Sharing this here, since it was news to me a few months ago and a lot of people seem to not be aware:

Buy tires on eBay. For the most part, the prices are as low as you are going to find, and they have an option to have your tires delivered to a local tire place around you, and installation is free. For me, it was a local PepBoys.

Excellent experience, beginning to end, no upsells to deal with since the guys at the shop are not selling their own products.

I too had very bad experience with GoodYear. They were supposed to give 60K miles with Assurance all weather tires but didn't last more than 30K.
Bought Pirelli P4 with 70K miles warranty in local Sam's in 2019 and it's been almost 4.5 years. So far almost like 45K miles on them and after recent tire rotation, they said the tires could last another 15-20K more miles

Discount tire has in depth tread life estimates using real world data. Most last 40-45k or less, but Michelin Defenders last 60-70k. They're obviously more expensive up front, but on a per mile basis are among the cheapest and also have among the best stopping distance and traction.

I got 75,000 mi out of a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. I could have gotten 80k if they weren't starting to dry rot. I drive a lot of highway miles though.

I just ordered a set of tires from Sams a week ago. It said 40 dollars installation when I order but you pay when you go to install. Anyone know how sams works for pricing if price goes down?

Yes, I saw them both at sams club yesterday. Pirelli tread pattern is completely different and cheaper than good year tires

Pirelli = stronger/stiffer tire. More performance oriented. Also cheaper.

Those higher miles tires are more plastic than rubber and i wouldnt trust them in wet conditions. 30k miles is what i expect out of a tire.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

For my Toyota Prius tires, Goodyear assurance vs. assurance maxlife price difference is $28x4. Is extra $100+ worth the investment? Or should I look for a different brand?

Thank you.

Depends one how many miles you drive/year. If you drive +20K, then Maxlife should last longer and partially offset the extra cost. All tires will rot. So the cheaper tire is preferred if you don't drive more than 10K/year. The Pirelli costs a little more than Assurance, but has about the same threadwear as Maxlife.

I probably got another 12k on my tires, does the promo require the tires be installed by a certain date?

Just got a set of goodyear all seasons at sams and they told me not to buy them. They said they dont last for 65k miles. I wouldnt expect any tires to last that long and bought them anyway. I did get the 100$ off but the warranty was 80$. So 480$ out the door
Dosent it comes with warranty?

I would appreciate any input on which tire set to purchase from Sam's Club. I'm looking to buy 4 tires and have narrowed it down to these two sets, mainly considering affordability. The website currently charges an extra $80 for installation for both sets. I'm assuming the free installation offer will kick in tomorrow.

Option 1: BFGoodrich Advantage Control - 225/60R17 99H Tires for a total of $567.96.
Option 2: Nexen N5000 Platinum - 225/60R17 99H Tires for $507.52.

I drive a Nissan Rogue and take it on a road trip to Brian Head, Utah, once a year around January/February, but the rest of the time, it's my daily driver in typical SoCal weather. Any advice or experiences with these tires would be greatly appreciated!
