I have a similar one (got from Costco several months ago). Yes 2.5 pounds. The only things I don't like: gets really hot really quick, battery life sucks, keyboard not the best IMHO. But can't beat the design, screen, weight -to-size ratio at this price point. 2 year Allstate warrantee definitely helps, especially at less than $500.. great deal IMHO

The eBay listing states this to have an IPS display but that's wrong as this model only comes with an OLED display and that's also stated in the official spec sheet by Acer: https://www.acer.com/us-en/suppor...01/details

I went through a lengthy review that compared the two models against each other and most functional stats ended up neck and neck and the higher screen res of the "older" model and the longer battery life of the "older" made me go with this model instead of waiting for the more powerful processor to possibly go on sale. I'm going to run tests and battery run time to see how the refurb performs.

Every single review of the specific model number states the OLED screen is a reality.
Costco [costco.com] does show the same model number (exactly) and says OLED so hopefully this refurbished model hasn't been downgraded with an IPS like the manufacturer says.

Why would there be no mention of one of the best features? Confused

Costco's picture clearly shows the Oled screen. So it is on Amazon. I think this recertified version is with the Oled swapped out.

This is an OLED laptop. Have followed this line for years. There is no IPS AMD version.

I think the Intel was the better deal. 120Hz OLED. The I7-13700H is significantly more powerful. The Intel version has a PCIE 4.0 HD WD SN740 which tested around 5500/5400 R/W for me with Crystal Disk Mark. I had a stackable coupon so it was only $491 delivered.

If the AMD version has heat problems and everything else is the same it won't matter that the 13700H is more powerful because the cooling system is just going to leave it throttled all to hell. Which is how you get a sub 3 lb laptop with that class of CPU in it, you skimp on the heavy ass copper plates.

Had this laptop. You need to be a bit savvy and tweak fans/processor a bit to make it bearable. They get super loud factory out of the box. The screen really is gorgeous, though.

Looks like a great deal. The only knock being battery life? 54WHr is likely a bit too small to allow work for couple hours?

If the display specs are correct... This price is worth the display alone.

I did a quick search for reviews of the Acer Swift Edge 16 and PC World said the following: " Acer offers two display options in the Swift Edge 16: a 3200×2000 120Hz OLED and a 3840×2400 60Hz IPS LCD."

Interesting find...so many here are so sure it ONLY comes with OLED when I brought up the fact that even Acer says it has IPS.

The PCWorld review [pcworld.com] explicitly states:

There's two versions of the Acer Swift Edge 16 in circulation. They differ in both CPU and display: the model I tested had AMD's Ryzen 7 7840U and a 3,200 x 2,000 OLED, while the alternative model offers a Ryzen 7 7735U and a 4K IPS display.

Everyone still think this deal comes with the OLED screen despite not a single mention of it?

I'm skeptical about it being an OLED and not sure if I want to be bothered with returning it if it isn't. Might still buy it to see.

I bought one but starting to doubt if this really has OLED. The below laptopmedia link lists both OLED and IPS as the two screen options for this model:

https://laptopmedia.com/series/ac...-sfe16-42/

EDIT: People in the Intel version thread got OLED even though that version was also listed on eBay as IPS, so maybe there is still a chance for OLED.

Always considered a discounted 4K laptop, and this one is DisplayHDR 500 certified apparently. I'm wondering if you get Dolby Vision on this thing though?
