It is a good lesson, and one that is frequently repeated in Samsung phone trade in threads - ALWAYS record yourself testing and packing a trade in device for Samsung. Upon your almost certain denial, just hop into live chat and offer to share the video - odds are that the rep will immediately credit you.

Just an FYI. I traded in galaxy tab for the same laptop 2 months ago and Samsung rejected the trade in saying it's broken/cracked. I was 100% in senses when I sent the trade in to Samsung and was well packaged and also had a hard case on it. Now I cannot fight with Samsung saying I sent a clean tablet.
Not going to ship a trade in again. Learnt my lesson.

Update - called Samsung because this post reminded me lol.
Explained the situation. Customer rep looked into the videos and pictures of the trade in their side and confirmed the trade in was received in perfect condition. Getting my $100 back for trade in. Finally! Thanks for this post OP

This is a scam they pull. They're hoping you don't call them up. I've done 40+ trade ins with samsung and probably have had 7 or so that didn't qualify. Most of which, with certainty did not have the issue they claimed. I called them up and they proceeded with the trade in every time.

Has it been mentioned that the ipad mini 2 $327 trade-in is good on S9+ and S9 ultra tablets? Not the overall deal this is, but I ran across it. Love my S9. Don't need the Book 4. Wish I did.

Did you send in the charger as well. I don't have the charger but the battery holds charge perfectly. Planning to send the unit only.

I am in for one. Nervous about the trade in but my iPad mini 2 is mint and hardly used and protected by a case from day one. I will make a video as suggested. Thanks for the tips.

I've been on the fence for the past couple of days and a cashback website is now reflecting 10% cashback instead of 5%. Probably updated now that the Samsung event promo is over. Pulled the trigger now.

I bought this laptop about a week before the trade in deal. Then I bought a used iPad 2 mini for $55 off of marketplace, did this deal to trade it in and returned the first laptop. Samsung accepted the trade with no issues. A little extra work and I cam out a few hundred bucks ahead!

Sounds like the people handling the trade ins are probably stealing peoples devices as claiming it's broken lets them "throw it away"

Thanks for sharing. Don't love the 1080p display (wish is was 16:10), but for the processor, RAM, and battery life, I don't think you could do any better close to this price point. I didn't need a powerhouse, but just something to take with me on the go to get some basics completed.

They seem to have changed it. I saw your comment and went to go look and it shows a lot less. I think it was $90 or something close to that
