Update - called Samsung because this post reminded me lol.
Explained the situation. Customer rep looked into the videos and pictures of the trade in their side and confirmed the trade in was received in perfect condition. Getting my $100 back for trade in. Finally! Thanks for this post OP

2. 3.5 lbs is standard for A LOT of ultrabooks/mid-range laptops now, same dimensions - if not smaller with 16:10 ratios to boot.
3. USB-C charging is very common across mid-range laptops now.
4. Sorry bud, this isn't DDR5/DDR5X RAM, it's DDR4X 4266 MHz on the Sammy. Even mid-rangers are getting DDR5/DDR5X at 5000+ MHz - better for iGPUs too.
5. Fingerprint and backlit are very common... seriously a selling point?
6. Again, it's common, as others have even stated. Several deals floating on here for Lenovo, Acer, Dell, etc in the $300-400 range for comparable specs.
The Intel Core 7 150U is also disappointing compared to the earlier AMD 7800 series and now 8800 series in laptops. That Intel Xe iGPU gets crushed as well by the 780M/880M on AMD. Just saying...
2. Name a 15" laptop that is 3.5lbs or less with 16gb ram for under $400.
3. USB-C is common in mid range laptops but hit or miss on under $400 laptops. Dealbreaker for majority of people.
4. Who cares? Target audience of this laptop will not care or ever notice the speed of the memory.
5. Fingerprint and backlit keyboard are becoming more common, but many of the under $400 laptops still lack them. Lack of backlit keyboard is a dealbreaker for many people.
6. And none of those have this combo of build quality, light weight for a 15", and16gb memory. Please give examples of those that do fit this description.
I really wish Samsung would break up listings of each variety (book4, book4 pro, book 4 360, book4 pro 360, book4 ultra) of the Book4 since they are drastically different.
The display holds up well and I like the size in general. Shame that nobody else makes small tablets with high res screens except Apple

After tax and cost of buying an iPad it was $400+ which is entering Acer refurb territory

I certainly would not pay and keep an old tablet that cannot be updated anymore, no matter how cheap but you do you.
If you don't like this laptop, there are other Samsung laptops to choose from to use this trade in. Maybe they will bring back the offer for the book4 edge later.

Does anyone know how a store pick up (at Best buy) with trade in work?
Can we drop off the trade in unit at the store?

BTW, the tax calculation was a little weird for me (93907 zip, California). They calculated tax on the $900 price ($63) and then added that to the $307.
