No one needs it. They *want* it, and they want it to watch media in high quality at an appropriate size based on their viewing distance.
when you have an open floor plan the size of the tv is nice. Eliminates having a kitchen TV where spaces is much harder to come by. Despite advertisings best efforts the pause and pickup in another room thing isn't really a thing yet if you're like me and jump between subscriptions.
If you've ever been to a nice garage and watched a football game with a fire and beers its quite nice to take the BBQ dad game to a different level. I have basically a full blown kitchen in my garage. I push the smoker outside and smoke up wings. I have a prep table with a fryer on it and a flat top grill. Put the steaks on the grill and have onions, mushrooms or anything else wanted on the cast iron while onion rings, cheese sticks or fries get fried up.
If you don't understand a use for a product why post?
Did it heat up your bedroom? I live in Florida and this is a real issue.
This may be the only place the extra inches in the bedroom are not needed.
If you need a tv that big in your bedroom you're doing a lot wrong. I have a 55" OLED and I ended up having to mount it higher on the wall to be able to see it properly while my head was on the pillow. Ceiling mounts are a thing also. Having a tv in the bedroom doesn't help you sleep though. The added lighting from a bigger screen is harmful.
No, I'll break it down for you instead. I've taught Economics for nearly 20 years. Many adults have very destructive buying and financial habits. I promise you, there are "real" needs in front of all adults, but they do not recognize them. Any investment you can make that replaces a financial drain, is a need, not a want. For example, a Large deep freeze, is a need. You stock up on sale items, in a year, you reduced food costs 30%. But, most adults don't do this. 85" TV, replaces going to the movies. Coffee machine, tumbler, a need. It replaces Starbucks. Buying a Google 8 Pixel Pro now, new unlocked, @ 550 vs $1,000 a launch, a need. How, easy, you wait 9 - 10 months and then buy your flagship phone. Mint Mobile 12 month @ $180 for 5G and 5GB date. Those two buying habits, "needs" save you $1500 a year. But, most adults won't do it. I could give you many needs that easily put $5,000 back into your bank account annually. This applies to anyone. I have dozen more examples of real "needs." I'm actually the guy you come to if you want to figure it out. The forumula is easy. It's a "need" if a purchase can replace a finacial drain. Good luck.

Hey man. I'm not saying anything about this TV or deal - if you want it, get it!
I merely pointed out to the first commenter who asked "why do people need this?", that they don't *need* it - they *want* it, and I only did that to try and emphasize that they should maybe back off a little and let people get what they want to get, because their question was probably off-putting to people.
I'm not looking to argue with anyone, and I'm not the needs police, call things what you want -- just know that I said what I said within the context of my original response to the first poster. They're the one you should be making these economic posts to.

It's okay to want things, it's okay to want everything. I wasn't passing judgement, or trolling and adding zero to the community, as you put it in your other comment.
Quite the opposite in fact, and most people here seemed to understand that.
I brought up needs vs wants to try and answer the original commenter (the one who is asking why people need such a big TV), and (I thought) I implied that it's okay to want a big TV in the process. I also thought I specifically stated a good reason why someone might want a big tv, but you seem to think my post means I don't understand the use for the product??
I'm just as confused about your response to the other comment I made, but would rather not keep making posts.
I have the 75" version of this for $550. For me, that 10" wasn't worth $400.
But now my walls empty space is asking for more girth...
Anyways. Backlight bleed is meh. As with any non-OLED/mini led.
The sound is surprisingly loud tbh. Picture quality is good. Worked ok in my bright room. Not as good as a Samsung q90 would've but hey, I saved so much money.

Does anyone have experience with this model first hand? I know it's a little newer. Or any thoughts on their experiences with older models? How is the picture quality for every day use? We know this isn't an LG OLED but it's also not $6300 USD.
