Not everyone that has or needs ramps has or needs a floor jack. These style ramps are great for doing quick oil changes, coolant changes, starter/alternator changes, differential fluid changes, or serpentine/accessory belt changes on vehicles without much ground clearance. Plus quality ramps are actually safer than jack stands since there's no chance of them tipping over or sinking into the pavement/dirt.

3" lift height is way too low to be of much use though. I have a bunch of low/sporty cars that i use plastic low-profile ramps on for routine maintenance, and they usually provide more like 6-8" of height. The peak height of a ramp isn't the main thing that makes low profile ramps work.... it's the length and angle of the slope which allows the front lip and other low parts of the vehicle to clear the ramp without hitting anything.

Who decided this was a good name for this product (named after a spider that kills it's mate).

"Honey, look what I got you for a present! Can you change my oil?" 🕷️

Use jack stands (edit: with your ramps), everyone!

If they fit under the rocker panel without scraping, then you should be able to.... but why not just put them behind the vehicle and back up onto them?

Well thought out reply. I have used Rhino's for several years, as well as the metal ramps for much longer. Agree that not everyone needs a floor jack; however, it is a nice piece of mind with these plastic ramps to *also* use a couple jack stands after the car is up on the ramps. They don't have to take on any load, just be in place as a backup, as an easy secondary safety measure.

Absolutely agree with 3" of lift not nearly being enough, and these low profile plastic ramps like to 'push' if they catch on the plastic airdam or front lip on sports or eco cars. Having some extra 1"x4" or 1"x6" to use as 'ramp ramps' helps.

Still don't think I'd want to use a black widow ramp with half the weight of a car on it, sounds like bad juju. Cheers.

The code works on the 8.5" tall ramps as well making them $54, but you might as well just get the 8.5" tall Rhinoramps from Amazon that are $48 after the coupon right now

Good price with free shipping! I could use some more clearance for servicing my car. Is this a good outfit to buy from?

I agree. To get underneath a car only supported by these plastic ramps, ultimately, you're trusting them with your life. There are too many things that can go wrong, and I'll always set up jack stands to properly bear the load before I get beneath a vehicle. These plastic ramps can & do fail (not at an alarming rate, but a few pictures of shattered ramps were more than I needed to see.) I personally only own/use ramps of this type to facilitate fitting my jack under my car without scraping.
