Most Instant Pot products are pretty good. This one? Not so much. The water comes up from the bottom, but it doesn't have much strength. It also cannot be used with loose leaf tea.

Bought on amazon but it quit working w/in 14 days. Definitely NOT recommended, even at that price. May work for occasional cold brew, but not for regular cold stuff. Ended up going with Vinci. Couldn't be happier. It's quick and allows for variable levels of coffee or loose leaf tea, plus multiple strength.

Definitely wouldn't recommend the Instant Pot Cold Brew for more than an occasional use.

If you have a mason jar or other large glass container. Use that with a tea bag for the grinds or just dump it all together and filter later. Easy. 12 hour min, I'd say. I try to 24 hours.

This is basically what I do, except I have a metal infuser I use instead of tea bags. Works great for me!

If anyone is looking for an all in one machine, this works well for me. I really only do standard drip and cold brew, but both come out good IMO. And saves me a ton of money because the Mrs was buying cold coffee every single day. Now I just use this. Bought it for $150 and it's on sale for that price again. Though it's not listed on the SCAA site for whatever reason, this does brew SCAA certified coffee. Have had no issues with it over the 2+ months I've had it.

I use this with loose leaf tea when I don't want a big container. Works great.

Yeah but that's 12 hours. This claims to do it in 20 minutes.

I bought this one recently which I like because it uses a mason jar:

Cold Brew Coffee Maker with Stainless Steel Filter, 64 oz Cold Brew Pitcher with Lid

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXJ1SBF4

I had a similar one that was smaller and didn't use a mason jar, but it didn't make enough for the week for me.

This Instant Pot looks like it is a magnetic stirrer with a cold brew jar to agitate the water to speed up the brewing.

if you like your coffee and tea to be clear
then don't buy something that agitates.

Metal infusers seem like a conveinent hack, but you'd be amazed (and disgusted) by how much coffee "dust" and other sediment makes it through the holes and into the end-product with those things. You may have noticed the "mud" that often collects at the bottom of the jar?

As someone who has tried both methods, I cannot recommend an actual filter enough. I use this a reusable cotton version [coffeesock.com]designed to match a half-gallon mason jar (fit the filter onto the mouth of a second mason jar, and just pour everything through).

I make it with a huge measuring cup for 24hrs in the fridge but if you want a machine like OPs but less money here's a smaller version that's similar for $10

True, true, I have noticed the 'mud' and usually toss the last bit of the cold brew to avoid drinking it. The coffee sock looks interesting, can you tell me how you usually go about cleaning it? Is it just a hand wash in the sink with soap and water type of deal?

Instant coffee exists. As do ice cubes.

Cold brew can be done with a cheesecloth in less than an hour if you really want to. This product shouldn't.
