User error. These are for training (weightlifting, gym work, bodyweight exercises etc). Definitely not hiking or running! You'll want a different set of sneakers for that

These are one of the worst shoes I have ever used. The sole is really thin and your feet hurt if you go hiking or running.

Prior to using these I used under armor and switching to these actually damaged my knees and foot.

If you want the sneaker feel you should look into a trail running set. Personally I prefer a light hiking boot but I've had good success with trail running sneakers on easier hikes. They'll have a significantly more rugged sole than regular sneakers and probably some water resistance (not all though).
