I haven't used this specific watch. I also haven't bought a Fossil watch since 2007 so it's possible the brand isn't what it used to be. But I own two Fossil watches and the only issue I ever had is that the first one has a severely scratched face. I wore that first one through two deployments working in the engine room of an aircraft carrier... it regularly hit metal valve handwheels, metal bulkheads, various pumps and turbines, tools, pipes, etc. with it while doing work and never stopping to worry about my watch. It's been worn in the Gulf of Alaska and the Persian Gulf and has seen a wide range of temperatures and conditions (Arabian sandstorms are no joke... sand everywhere, comes right through the ventilation).
The only thing I've ever needed to replace was the battery... both watches still work, nearly two decades later.

EDIT:
On the flip side, it comes with a wallet, valued $5.

Fossil tends to make affordable hard mineral crystal watches in the $50-200 range which typically trend with whatever is currently in fashion and sometimes pushing the envelope on what's palatable. I've always liked that about the brand, as many other brands focus on tradition and crank out the same boring stuff year after year. By the time your Fossil's crystal is scratched up enough to make you not want to wear it, the watch is probably out of style anyways.
None of the Relics I've owned could fetch more than $50. It is never a good sign when a brand needs to point out that it is made by another brand to make a sale. These are definitely cheaply made watches. If you like how it looks and you've got $40 to burn, go for it, otherwise, pass on this one and get a Casio, Timex, Invicta, or any other brand which often dips to these lows. Even Mickey Mouse watches hang out in this price range.
In any of the recent ones, the hands don't align to the marks on the dial - all of the ones I received had that problem; materials were really cheap quality, and the fit and finish were of NYC Chinatown grade, in fact even worse!

I've bought several Fossil watches and they are all beautiful, keeps time, no cheap look about them. Stop it!
