This is my first post so sorry if I missed anything. I just got my 2025 Leaf leased yesterday from Boulder Nissan and the price actually is $9/mo. 24 month, 10k miles per year lease. This is the cheapest monthly I've seen in CO.

Total costs:
Dealer fees + sales tax = $2300
Optional damage coverage = $600
Lease return fee = $320

lol I bought another EV 5 years after my first. Why would I want to buy a car I can't produce power for myself? Especially one that requires more maintenance and makes the air I breathe dirtier?
Are you saying you can make your own lithium battery?

Lookup the average life of those and how much not cost to replace it once it inevitably goes end of its life. Every electric car will have this issue and you will need a way to replace those batteries. Some costs as much. As $20k.

California gas prices are 2 to 3 times higher than the rest of the nation. With California's massive deficits it's only a matter of time before they start taxing EV mileage.
That scaremongering only works on ppl as uninformed as you. Prior to the massive deficit CA had last year, they had the largest surplus ever. The swings in state revenue happen because tax revenue is collected in part by a capital gains tax. So when the markets do well so does revenue and vice versa. They've also set up and strengthened a rainy day fund paid into every year so the deficits don't break the bank. And the state has already balanced the budget to address the current deficit. You should be more worried about your own state finances than California's. But nice try, I'm sure it works on some people.

this will be my last post on this topic since i don't want to get into argument. Cherry picking the news article which talk about individual instance (some models having issues or individual companies having issues) doesn't change the fact that overall EV market share is increasing which means more people are buying EVs.

Wf course you can say that I cherry picked the websites too, so please google 'ev market share' and show me a respectable site which shows that overall EV sales are declining.
Neither of your links say what you say they say. You cherry picked places that cherry picked only what they wanted to show. They cut off and or do not show the data to show the declines. See below for non fake news

Right now EV sales growth is slowing at a time when rapid expansion is needed to reach climate goals. Across the U.S., EV sale rose only 2.6% year over year for the first quarter of 2024, while EV market share against gasoline cars declined, to 7.3%, from 2023's 7.6% record high, according to Kelley Blue Book.

Yes, gas powered is the only way to go!
Plenty of articles out "there" lately, discussing that almost half the current EV owners regret their purchase and are going back to gas powered engines asap.
Thumbs down don't change the truth!!..lol

That's just how leases work. You financially screw yourself every possible way, and you're happy to sign the dotted line.
Not always the case. I leased my car and at the end, the amount I owed if I were to buy it out was far less than the value of the vehicle. To add, I did all the paperwork myself and was able to avoid any dealership fees that I'd have to pay for had I let the dealership process my buyout.

10k miles a year? That is like just storing it for them while you paying them.

Solid deal.

Nissan is losing money lately trying to sell people cars.

...

Of course, if the US allowed the import of $10K BYD EVs everyone would drive them, but we all know that will never happen.
Buy BYD EV or Hybrid from Mexico...

These are in Colorado where there's an additional $5k state rebate. Combine that with the federal $7.5k rebate, the dealership is getting $12,500 when you lease a car for 2 years capped at 20,000 miles on the car. They did the math for depreciation and figure that they can sell these things as like new 2 years from now for at least the price of the new car minus $12,500 plus the little amount you pay. It's not a knock against EVs. It's just math.

Slow charging, 150 mile range, and Leaf is being phased out soon.

I guess if you wanted a cheap ev and didn't care about how terrible it is...

EV batteries have at least 8 year warranty (sometimes 10 years). After that, it costs about $6k to replace, at least for this model as quoted by the manufacturer.

If you got it done by a local mechanic it could be cheaper.

Not all EVs, Nissan Leaf yes. It's a notorious platform and gave people the bad rep of deteriorating range and the need to replace the expensive battery in general. Teslas so far not the case. No Nissan Leaf lasts 100K miles with usage range on their original battery while other EVs can, especially Teslas.

It's the internet. You can find articles arguing for anything. Finding quality articles with facts and research to backup their claims, that's another story. You keep enjoying your subjective "truth". I'll enjoy my cheaply fueled car with almost zero maintenance.

Do your research, EVs are not the future. They pollute more than gas cars and studies have shown our power grid can't handle an influx of EVs. 99% of EV owners buy them to virtue signal about saving the environment
You mean the aging power grid run by regional monopolies that they refuse to invest in quality or security while raising rates and complaining about new technology that strains it?
