Hdmi 1.4 was released in 2009.
Hdmi 2.0 was released in 2013.

Dell does the same garbage with their Inspiron line, it's inexcusable at this point.

Reminds me of a story when Dan Snyder, owner of the Redskins, bought packages of peanuts from a bankrupted airline. Subsequently sold those peanuts at Redskins stadium for an insane upcharge.

These ports were in some liquidated factory's inventory and they were stupid cheap. Same with the USB 5 Gbps ports from 2008 they frequently use.
