No, the Costco version is 6 quart bowl lift design.

Tilt design:
Pro: Easy to scrape the side of the bowl, easy to add additional ingredients while running.
Con: Not good for dough and will move around on the counter, not easy to maintenance and repair as the Bowl lift version.

Bowl lift design:
Pro: More torque so good for dough, less moving on the counter, easy to maintenance and repair. Some versions have all metal gears so will last much longer.
Con: Hard to scrape the side of the bowl, need to stop the motor to add ingredients.

Do Not Buy This!

Get the one with the "bowl lift" for the same price when on sale. They are all the same machine electrically/mechanically, the difference is in the bowl/attachments, which if you take my recommendation, will allow you to put any size bowl you like into 1 single machine. Buy whatever size bowl you want, if it's a "bowl lift" style it will fit. If you buy this flip head design listed here, you're pretty much locked in to a single bowl size forever.

That's how they get ya!

I got my 5.5 qt "bowl lift" mixer just last Christmas from Best Buy at $249.99..... If I need 7 qt capacity all I need to buy is just a bowl and a matching whatever paddle. All the same machine, same power, but the "bowl Lift" gives you more options for the same money, when on sale.

Wifey loves hers for 3yrs now.
Keep an eye out for attachments that expand this mixer's abilities. We picked up a spiralizer and noodle maker - each attach on top face.

You probably got the 575W or 590W version. I am not sure about the newest one because don't see watt list on the box or label just back of the mixer.

How is well does the meat grinder attachment work? That would be my primary use case, with an occasional mix job thrown in. Thanks.
It is ok and not as fast as dedicated meat grinder . Don't buy 1 that made with ALUMINUM because it will tarnish (turn almost black) in the dish washing or under super hot water.

I have bought a lot of sale items from Amazon and they're usually used or refurbished.
I've clicked on items that show a great price only to realize they're refurbished. It's not always apparent at first glance…so perhaps you're also not seeing that. Also, if you're selecting "options" for other prices/retailers of an item, you may be overlooking the word "used" on some of them. In all the years that I've purchased sale items that say, "sold by Amazon" (you could also be selecting items that are sold by another retailer and just "shipped by Amazon"; in that case it may be the retailer who is not credible) I have never received a used or refurbished item (when the description did not specify those terms). That's been my experience, anyway.

No, the products were sold as new by Amazon. Recently, I got a refund on an Ego mower because it was a used product sold as new. The box was double taped. Upon inspection, the mower had fingerprints and marks on the body, and streak marks on the battery and charging hub, which indicted that someone used it. I've bought other items sold as new from Amazon that had similar indicators. Aside from that, people on Reddit have experienced similar.

The tilt fits under a standard cabinet height. The lift bowl has to be in an open area or stored away. I *hate* the lift bowl for this reason. We use our 20 yr old tilt version for everything but never make bread or dough so there's that.

The lift bowl went back.

I don't understand how this isn't a 69.95 product. It's a stand, bowl, and mixer. There's nothing that special or high tech about it. What am I missing?

The new lift bowls mixers (KSM55/KSM60/KSM70) are 500W. Not sure if they still have a line with the bigger motors.

As I understand it, the reason for plastic gears is so that if there's a problem, the gear will break, preventing the motor from burning out. Easier to burn out the entire motor with a metal gear.
Hmm, may have been true at one time but I have one of the discontinued Accolade line, which was sort of a special edition sold at Macy's and some other places.

It is tilt head, like the Artisan, but has a bigger motor (400W vs 325W) and metal gears vs. plastic. It is probably 15 years old and has an auto-shutoff protection feature to prevent motor burnout.

I have KitchenAid 5quart model KM25G 450W (commercial) and 6quart 590W KP26M (Non commercial). Both have the same motor part number and same metal gears size. The only things that seem different are the paddle, bowl size, and wider arm to hold the bowl. I wasn't sure why 140W different between the two.
