I have a couple plastic Vornado fans that have lasted 10+ years and show no signs of quitting.

I picked one of these up a few years ago and it is a beast. Very good for bedroom or workout space.

I have seven vornado fans of various sizes/models and my all metal one is by far my least favorite, other than my 4 inch desk fan. That thing is garbage. The metal one makes this rattley metallic noise that I cannot find the source of no matter how hard I try. It also isn't consistent in its output. You can hear it randomly increase and decrease speed all the time. All of my plastic vornado fans make a nice pure fan hum with no discernible rattles and they blast air across an entire room. I have this model and its extra bulk is a worthwhile tradeoff for how much better it is than the four inch models. Don't waste your money on those.

This is really just a fan. It is not an air circulator. It's too small for that, unless you're looking to circulate air in a closet.

It's for a small room and it is fine for that or for travel, but yeah, make sure you know the size of this before purchasing.

I am not sure why there's only two speeds. If it had 4 or 5 speed settings, it would be a lot more versatile fan.

I have their variable speed fan which allows infinite speed adjustment and I love it.

And more expensive to build a capable small sized motor with additional speed settings, voltage, sound management, parts, etc. It likely didn't make sense to add speed settings to the current model because of minimal amount of change between them wouldn't add value and cost more. In general, this is why cheap things don't have more features, requiring you to purchase the next model up. 🌈 "the more you naur" 🇦🇺
