Got the 50" version of this to use on a TV cart at the office with a promo offer earlier this year. As expected the picture quality is fine and just a step below Samsung/LG budget models. There are plenty of connectors (3X HDMI, composite, optical, ethernet etc..) and the internal speakers are fine. If you do not want to use firetv simply never connect this TV to the internet and use your preferred streaming device. Just change your power control setting to open the last used input.

I did pick up 2 of the 43 inch 4k Fire OS tv's (F30 series) about a month ago, for 99 dollars each. I do like these 2 tv's and they were shipped with amazing boxes, well protected.

The TV in this thread is bigger at 58 inch for same series I got (F30 Series) for 249 dollars. I have a F30 65 inch 4k for 3 years and I love it (it was 299 dollars 3 years ago).

Got the 55" 7 years ago. Went dead recently. I'll stick with Samsung or LG

I'd say 7 years is a pretty good lifespan for a cheap screen like this.

Correct, A TV repairman told me 5 years or so if it gets a lot of use is about right
