In that case, I would recommend a Epson Eco tank inkjet printer and only that printer.
That's only if you are really against getting laser for some reason because laser is almost always better.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank graphixv
I've printed off entire color board games with this thing.
Edit: I can't speak about the other Canon models, but the 6020, No restriction chips Other than the fact that it Will Not track the ink levels when you start filling it back up (obviously). It will also tell you when you first do this that it will not track the ink (obviously). I now fill it by weighing the cartridges. Once you overfill and ink starts leaking, yeah, you'll know the correct weight then -lol.
most inkjets now incorporate encrypted chips in their cartridges that
are needed to tell the printer it has an "authorized" new cartridge,
thus killing off the potential for generics. HP is famous for this.
you'll have to find out for yourself if Canon plays the same game.

However, a decent color laser is something that can be had for a deal, or purchased used.
If properly maintained, it will likely last for a very long time. It will also cause far less headaches. I can easily see the cost of ownership being less than the several inkjets you would need otherwise.
