Aside from color, are these any better than cheaper Ryobi or DeWalt ones (pardon my language)?

I've used these, Ryobi, and Makita XPS and the makitas grip the best and Ryobi slips the most. Never used any DeWalt impact bits.

Agreed - these are definitely nicer than Ryobi or most DeWalt bits. I prefer Makita XPS and this is a huge set that might be a bit overkill for home use, but good deal and good quality if you need em.

For home use? I think RYOBI is good enough for that.

This is 33$ with a great selection. Awesome for home use, don't know why it'd be considered overkill. Makita XPS commonly on sale for 20$ but you won't get the longer bits which are very handy. Makita are quality as well and been my go to just bc the older Milwaukee bit cases sucked (improved now). I'd skip Ryobi if you're putting together a kit and expecting it to last with any regularity of use.
