I'm a novice and everyone keeps saying it's too hard of a club to use unless you're pro.
But everyone keeps saying chippers are cheating and too easy.

You're better off just using a pitching wedge to chip around the green.
Golf is hard, most are served well simplifying where possible. Using 3-5 wedges from 100 yards in is not something beginners should do.
