You can activate phone #1 to have the bundled 1-yr and units loaded to it. Then activate phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from phone #1; service on phone #1 (phone number, 1-yr, units) get transferred to phone #2, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #2 get added on top, giving phone #2 two years of service and 2x the units.

If you're currently using a phone on TF, your can activate phone #1 WITH A TRANFER from your current phone to have your current phone number, days, units transferred to phone #1, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #1 get added on top. Then activate phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. After that, if you prefer to use your current phone, re-activate your current phone with a transfer from phone #2. Smart existing TF users do that all the time to "harvest" cheap service days and units from those HSN/QVC bundles.

Folks, just so you're aware...

The service plan is 1500 text, 1500 minutes, 1.5gb data -- for the *entire year*. Not per month. That's about 4 minutes of talk time per day.

It's an extremely minimal and restrictive cellular plan, one that you could even call insultingly low - especially if you're used to cellular plans in modernized nations (aka, ones outside the the USA). It's not for everyone, and make sure it fits your use case.

No need to be insulted - for many people (for example, those who use less than 4 minutes of phone talk per day) paying $2 (and sometimes less) per month for a phone service which includes a new smartphone every year is a very good deal.

Asking for my GRandPa who lives out of state.

1. Do this things comes uNlock? If not, how do we unlock it?

2. Is there a monthly pay?

3. Can the 1500/year be used from outside the USA?

4. Is this good enough for just call/text and small media consumption for Grandparents?

Please be nice. I just need information. Thank you๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

This deal is about two Moto G Play phones. You asked about two Samsung phones. That's confusing to me.
My bad, I meant to say the Moto G phones.

I already have a tracfone phone. I activate one Moto G. Transfer my old phone to newly activated Moto G. Then transfer back to old phone after a day or two? Will the Moto G still unlock after 60 days? Then repeat for the other Moto G?

So, a burner?

Sounds good. Plus it can be used as a media device for kids and an emergency phone for you or your kids.

1. No, they don't come unlocked. You have to keep the phones active for 60 days for them to be eligible for unlock. Do not swap out SIM cards during this time.

2. No monthly pay. You pay for a whole year upfront, which only comes out to $25 per phone for the entire year of service. After the year is up, you will need to choose another plan to keep the lines active.

3. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use this plan outside the US.

4. It's good for emergency calls and data usage. Not for regular media consumption.

Keep in mind that texting does not work if data gets over IMHO. Can others confirm?

This comes with TF/Verizon SIM, like all TF bundles in recent years.

To be safe, use each Moto G Play for at least 30 days before transferring to the next. Some will do it sooner than 30 days, but I always got mine unlocked with at least 30 days of service.

Dont quote me but if you dont activate within 45 days you may lose ability to activate. contact tracfone to be sure. Last year I waited about 65 days to activate a phone and it would not activate thru tracfone. They may deactivate sim/imei after xx number of days..
" Chat with tracfone online to be sure"
Most of my phones are activated after 1 year minimum. Once I think around 2021 I was past the expiration date and had to call customer service and after bouncing between inept customer service reps I gave up and surprisingly someone somehow was able to make it work after the call. Though I would highly recommend not to go past the expiration date.

SMS (plain text, single recipient) uses text units, no data. MMS (text with attachment or group text) uses text units and some data. If you run out of data, you can add more at $10 per GB (rather expensive).
