You can activate phone #1 to have the bundled 1-yr and units loaded to it. Then activate phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from phone #1; service on phone #1 (phone number, 1-yr, units) get transferred to phone #2, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #2 get added on top, giving phone #2 two years of service and 2x the units.

If you're currently using a phone on TF, your can activate phone #1 WITH A TRANFER from your current phone to have your current phone number, days, units transferred to phone #1, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #1 get added on top. Then activate phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. After that, if you prefer to use your current phone, re-activate your current phone with a transfer from phone #2. Smart existing TF users do that all the time to "harvest" cheap service days and units from those HSN/QVC bundles.

Folks, just so you're aware...

The service plan is 1500 text, 1500 minutes, 1.5gb data -- for the *entire year*. Not per month. That's about 4 minutes of talk time per day.

It's an extremely minimal and restrictive cellular plan, one that you could even call insultingly low - especially if you're used to cellular plans in modernized nations (aka, ones outside the the USA). It's not for everyone, and make sure it fits your use case.

No need to be insulted - for many people (for example, those who use less than 4 minutes of phone talk per day) paying $2 (and sometimes less) per month for a phone service which includes a new smartphone every year is a very good deal.

You are right, that is the only way I could think of, all I need to do is buy one more BYOD Sim for $1, because TF at times does not allow to re-use the old SIM sitting in my Galaxy S phone. I was trying to avoid moving the number 3 times and getting a new SIM, but looks like that may be little longer route but much safer route. Thanks for your input.
In my tracfone account, there are only 2 phones on it, one active and one inactive. And it's easy to move from one phone to the other if I wanted to.

Maybe you can transfer from your Galaxy to the Moto phone and then transfer back to the Galaxy. Then transfer from your Galaxy to the second Moto phone and back to the Galaxy. That way, it'll be easier to transfer back to your Galaxy as the final active phone. That's assuming Tracfone only allows up to two phones on each account, one active and one inactive.

I used to have more phones sitting in my Tracfone account but noticed Tracfone removed all but the two most recent ones. I think they changed the system to allow only two phones now. Anyone have more than two phones on their accounts?

I have a question about the inactive Tracfone phone on the Tracfone accounts . Can the inactive phone be used in a different Tracfone account? Or can it only be used in the account it was activated on.

I have two different Tracfone accounts, and would like to use a phone from one account on another account.

Can I put the 2 years into 1 phone or do they have to be separate?
You could do this. I usually just wait a day or two to combine everything into one phone. This is how I reload my minutes and time into one phone.

hi what is 2 orbics, ty for answer
The issue with the Orbics is they are super crappy phones so you would get a phone you couldnt even start up to activate the plan and you couldnt really resell them to make back some of the cost.

...you buy a mobile PHONE and not make PHONE calls? ....well, that's up to you. Different strokes for different folks. Suppose that's why there's a plan for 4 mins of talk time per day.
Most of the time you can get wifi at most places, especially if you have Xfinity Internet at home.
So phone is just something you use if there is nothing else available.
For those who rarely do voice calls, minutes used gonna be very minimum.
I have had TracFone for years, since I'm not much to call. I have used the phone service and texts many times, but not enough to run out of minutes or texts, or even data.
Right now I have over 5gb of data accumulated, several thousand of phone and texts as well.
Considering how much I saved for something I barely used, is very much worth it.
In my case, if this could be cheaper and less minutes text and data as an option, it be something an option to me.
The way it is is good though, don't mind having a bit of coverage that I never find the necessity to use. Better than paying 50-100$ a month for something I have already other ways to get it, and rarely need a cellphone to be the avenue to do it.

You can DIY [reddit.com] to transfer service from an active phone to the inactive one. May not be necessary, but you could chat with CS to remove the inactive device from that account first (CS will send a verification code to an active line in that account first). If you only have the inactive device in that account, you can't remove it by yourself or by chat, simply use the DIY to transfer. Note you may not be able to log in to an empty account later.

I have 4 active lines in an account. I also have had accounts with 5 active/inactive devices recently.

Will this work for tmobile sim or tmobile based mvno after it's been unlocked?
With T-mo and T-mo MVNO's, most definitely. T-mo and their MVNOs don't care about "whitelisting", if a phone has the necessary bands, it'll be accepted.

AT&T and their MVNOs are different. AT&T has a whitelist of accepted devices https://www.att.com/scmsassets/su...etwork.pdf . If a phone has the necessary bands but its model number doesn't match EXACTLY, you can't activate a new AT&T BYOP SIM with its IMEI (some people will swap in an already-activated SIM, but I won't discuss that). Some TF phones have model numbers ending with V or DL, and they're usually not in AT&T whitelist. Some AT&T MVNOs like Cricket even have a stricter whitelist.

Is this a decent phone for a 12yo kid to use ? Like does it do the basics well and is it good enough for some mobile games ? It's sooo cheap and very tempting Smilie
