You can activate phone #1 to have the bundled 1-yr and units loaded to it. Then activate phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from phone #1; service on phone #1 (phone number, 1-yr, units) get transferred to phone #2, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #2 get added on top, giving phone #2 two years of service and 2x the units.

If you're currently using a phone on TF, your can activate phone #1 WITH A TRANFER from your current phone to have your current phone number, days, units transferred to phone #1, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #1 get added on top. Then activate phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. After that, if you prefer to use your current phone, re-activate your current phone with a transfer from phone #2. Smart existing TF users do that all the time to "harvest" cheap service days and units from those HSN/QVC bundles.

Folks, just so you're aware...

The service plan is 1500 text, 1500 minutes, 1.5gb data -- for the *entire year*. Not per month. That's about 4 minutes of talk time per day.

It's an extremely minimal and restrictive cellular plan, one that you could even call insultingly low - especially if you're used to cellular plans in modernized nations (aka, ones outside the the USA). It's not for everyone, and make sure it fits your use case.

No need to be insulted - for many people (for example, those who use less than 4 minutes of phone talk per day) paying $2 (and sometimes less) per month for a phone service which includes a new smartphone every year is a very good deal.

No, the real insult here is that nearly everywhere else in the modernized world, you'd get a LOT more for these prices. This might be a bargain for those who only are aware of USA mobile plans, but in the big picture, it's a joke. And even more so if folks don't realize it.
Most of the countries you're talking about the size of Texas, without the terrain challenges of the USA, and without 10's of millions of freeloaders, which I'm sure you thing the government pays for.

Tracfone is ideal for people who don't use their phones much, like me. TF service is NOT for people who use their phones for work, business. I'm retired, at home most of the time, using my laptop on Wifi. Typically, I use about 100 minutes/200 texts/100MB per month. I don't yak on the phone all the time. A TF plan with 1-yr and 1500 in each bucket is enough for me. If I need extra texts (for group texts from my siblings) I can buy extra texts at $5 for 1000 texts.

With those TF bundles, my typical cell phone service costs less than $5 a month. I cringed when I saw people paying $80 to $100 a month for their cell phone service.
plus while at home….which is most of the day…..I can call and talk as much as I want through wifi.

Well, thank goodness these aren't social programs but instead commercial enterprises! Seems like y'all are being taken for a ride!
So you're a freeloader.

You can DIY [reddit.com] to transfer service from an active phone to the inactive one. May not be necessary, but you could chat with CS to remove the inactive device from that account first (CS will send a verification code to an active line in that account first). If you only have the inactive device in that account, you can't remove it by yourself or by chat, simply use the DIY to transfer. Note you may not be able to log in to an empty account later.
I had the opposite problem.
I sometimes would change phones if one cracked the screen, or I wanted to go back to an older phone.
The previous phones were always there. But this time I tried to do so, recently, and everything was gone. I used the chat, as I thought maybe the option had moved somewhere, but no, all my inactive phones were gone, and the chat person said I could not longer use the sim from the older once active phone, and had to get a new sim.
So my habit of exchanging phones are not longer something easy to do.
Not sure if there was some new policy, or if somehow a glitch wiped out my inactive phones out.

You can still transfer service to an inactive device not in the same account (or not in an account at all). However, it's true that a SIM is no longer valid if inactive for an extended period of time. I tried to transfer service to an iPhone (with original TF/Verizon SIM in it) inactive for over a year, but got an error message to call TF. I tried again with a phone inactive for less than 6 months and it worked.

So what are your options? This is a great plan for some of us. I've got a T-Mobile line for my primary and it is nice to have a backup line on Verizon for next to nothing. I've got 7000 minutes and several years of service built up. I'm satisfied.

In my tracfone account, there are only 2 phones on it, one active and one inactive. And it's easy to move from one phone to the other if I wanted to.

Maybe you can transfer from your Galaxy to the Moto phone and then transfer back to the Galaxy. Then transfer from your Galaxy to the second Moto phone and back to the Galaxy. That way, it'll be easier to transfer back to your Galaxy as the final active phone. That's assuming Tracfone only allows up to two phones on each account, one active and one inactive.

I used to have more phones sitting in my Tracfone account but noticed Tracfone removed all but the two most recent ones. I think they changed the system to allow only two phones now. Anyone have more than two phones on their accounts?
Thanks for the details, will try to replicate the steps. I already bought a new BYOD Sim card just in case Tracfone doesn't allow to use the same Sim card in my galaxy during the final step. Hopefully everything goes well.

You violated the primary rule: Do NOT use CS. Use the automated process on your account page. Even though your TF's are old, it would be interesting to me and probably others, if you were to try to activate them on your account page to see if it works. I did it at 13 mo. but don't recall any posts from users who waited longer.
Just as additional input on these kind of activation questions, here is my experience BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT YMMV.
Activated a Moto E with 1500min/txt data on 3/2024 and was bought on HSN around 7/2021, so that is more than 2.5 years later.

Yes. It is possible. If Galaxy S is a BYOD phone, it may be better to do the alternatives, but it involves chatting with TF CS (so some risk).

If you buy this 2-pack, you could add 2 years and 3000 TTD to your plan. Do the following if you don't care about referral points (potential 7,000 for existing account and 8,000 for new account with new line, but requires more time to complete! I'll skip the steps.)
1. Activate 1st G Play with a new number in your existing account.
2. Wait a few days, and active the 2nd G Play by transferring the phone number and service from the first Play. See step by step instructions [reddit.com].
3. Wait a few days, and start a chat with TF that you'd like to combine the service (add the buckets from G Play # to Galaxy S #. This is the potential risk part - some TF agents may mess up the transfer/combine... During the chat, the agent should send a verification code to the 2nd G Play (donor), and you should also receive an alert on G Play that you're moving service from this phone. Sometimes the agent want to send a code to the Galaxy (receiving phone) as well, and I get nervous. If your Galaxy receives alert about moving service, the agent is doing it wrong (moving service from wrong phone). It gets a little more complicated if your current service is not on TF/Verizon.
(DM me for a script that I've been using with great success.)
About the points mentioned, I believe now they are just 2,500, unless I am missing something.
Oh, and make sure if you trying to get points as a new user YOU DON'T USE A PREVIOUSLY USED EMAIL EVENTHOUGH IT SAYS NO SUCH USER WHEN YOU TRY TO LOG IN TO THAT OLD ACCOUNT. AS SOON AS YOU ACTIVATE A LINE WITH THAT EMAIL CABOOOOM!!!! YOU ARE AN OLD USR AND NO POINTS FOR YOUR NEW LINE

8,000 Reward points as a receiver? I thought it was only 3,500 now.
Yes I believe you are right now it is 3,500/2,500 when 2-3 years ago used to be 7000/8000. I think all changed when VERIZON took over TF completely.

did a referral on 7/16/24, I got 7,000 and the new account got 8,000 (1,000 for joining the rewards program plus 7,000 for using a referral)
Ok, that is good to know it still works like that. I'll know too in a few weeks if I get this deal!! Thanks for the info.

I know this is off topic, but just hoping for a good insight.
Does anyone have a recomendation for a precise stylus that can be used with Android phones and tablets?
And by precise I mean a narrow tip for selecting small items like urls, text etc. I use Samsung Note phones and would love to mimic the functionality somewhat on cheaper Android phones like these for example.
TIA
