Anyone have a good alternative to Wyze camera's? I don't understand why I have to pay for cam plus for each camera i own.

Eufy, no subscription, great support. Had the smart deadbolt key cover fade from the sun. Made a claim 6 months after it expired, they replaced it no questions asked. And didn't even have to send the old one back. 👍🏻

You don't need to pay for each camera if you own many. There's Cam Plus Unlimited which is $99 a year (or $89 when there's a deal, coming up 8/3 per their email), supports up to 99 cameras.
Anyways, I hate the fact that they don't do the person detection without the subscription. It's pretty annoying for my doorbell cam.

I purchased this a few months ago but my garage is not compatible with it...past return date. If anyone is interested, I'd like to sell just the garage controller but I'd like to keep the camera. I think the garage controller will only work if you already have a Wyze Cam V3.

I am switching over to Tplink Tapo cameras. I was an early adopter of Wyze but I have lost faith in the company and all their tricks. I also wont get Eufy after their security issues and lying about it. Been very happy with the tapo and there is no subscription needed for detecting. Also very responsive.

These are great when combined with an Echo Dot in the garage.

When I'm going out for a bike ride, it's nice to be able to just yell out "Echo, close garage door" vs. needing to walk over to an external pad and take hands off the bike to press the button.

Similar story in my workshop -- there's no exterior PIN pad and a lot of junk in between the door and the button, so it's a lot easier to just call out to close the door.

(in theory they can also be configured to open by voice with a PIN, but we haven't set that up)
