I had the same one and my daughter accidentally drowned it in water, the cost to fix the screen and battery is 620 USD. Is this a good deal or should I wait till Black Friday also spec wise is ok as compared to whatever they launched recently?

Not a good deal in my opinion. The current model air with the M2 can be had by purchasing from Apple with the Education discount (no verification necessary, just do a google search for Apple Education). Admittedly the does have twice the storage, but the current M2 is $549 and also includes a $100 Apple gift card. Maybe an OK deal if you have to have the 256 option, but nothing great.
