I got the a2500 from Best Buy yesterday and considering this one now. Other than the timer, different dial, and more presets is there much difference in performance? I notice the a3500 is 3 lbs heavier. Possibly due to the stainless steel? I wonder if this helps dampen sound at all.
We went with the lowest model A2300 at that time upon recommendation from a few. Here is the takeaway... they are all exactly the same unit functionally but made it to look higher just by branding. If you use the app, you get all the presets through the app and you don't miss anything as the app controls all that. I would spend that extra money saved on the Perfect Blend Smart scale. Have you seen videos of that? Its amazing how they integrate all together with the app with the recipes and dumb it down for us so that you can't go wrong. Look at some youtube videos of it all work together. It's a shame that they discontinued endorsing that product... but if you can get it, it still works flawlessly. It is $100 but a worthwhile investment once you see the videos and the value that they bring together.

It's supposedly noticeably quieter per various review websites. I'm not sure if I'd upgrade if I had a Vitamix already, and I don't care much about all the random "smart" features. But as someone who's been looking for one, I'm willing to pay the premium for a quieter blender.

these are no where quieter. I have a3500, at speed 10 you cant hear anything near by. Buy these for performance and output, not for convenience or quiet night time blending

We have had the 6300 for about 12 years. Great blender. Having the preset for smoothies, which we also use for cleaning, is very convenient.
The Vitamix warranty is excellent. My wife called them shortly before the warranty was up because she broke out tamper. After agreeing to send a new tamper for free, they noted the impending end of warranty and suggested going through the entire blender to make sure it was tip top. They identified a few potential problems and sent us parts for free.
After 10 years we did have to buy a new pitcher. The gears/blade assembly froze up. Vitamix no longer sells that by itself. You have to replace the whole pitcher. Bummer, but well worth it for continued years of daily use.

Can someone please explain how this is a good price? Even with a discount, why is something like this even cost this much? What causes the "value" to be so high?

Amazon (not 3rd party sellers) did drop the price briefly to $399, then Amazon went out of stock. Only available from 3rd party sellers on Amazon now with the lowest seller at $649.95. The rest of the sellers are at $699.

Because you can literally cook soup with these gigachad class blenders.

The newer blenders haven't held their value compared to older models. With the new self detect containers to error code issues among others, have these new blenders hitting sale prices more often from customer returns.

The better value are the pro series and propel models with preset settings and old containers.

I bought a refurbished A3500 model (it came new in box) from the Vitamix store during Black Friday for $324 ($25 off $100 coupon). Just a heads up to those looking. It might be better to wait a few months.

Agreed. The Venturist is a cousin of the Ascent series but pretty much has all the same features. When they were first introduced ... they sold 2 smoothie containers with the blade attachment and refurbished went for $170. My wife didn't want a refurbished and bought a brand new A2300 for $276 on black friday at Bed Bath & Beyond. But we miss all that would come with it... specially those smaller containers.
