Not a bad deal, but that #10 can of rice & chicken is good for 9 servings, which is basically 4.5 of their smaller pouches in their assortments.

Just today, my local Costco had a box of 8 of those pouches (various meals), with 2 servings each, for $40, which breaks down to $2.50 per serving, and I could buy it and walk out with it right then.

This deal is cheaper, at $2.19 per serving, but not only do I have to wait to have it delivered, but once I open the can, I have to find a way to reseal it.

The Protein Sample Pack costs $363.30 for six cans. If you buy those six cans separately then the total cost is $267.54.

Recommended shelf life on pouches is about 8-10 years. On cans it is 25 to 30 years

That deal is very good, mine has the same box and price too. I purchased it for backpacking and they got rid of granola servings which is just filler, you can make your own with any granola and powder milk for way cheaper. They kept the biscuits and gravy as the only breakfast so you will have to bring additional breakfast options.

I will say the cans of chicken, pork sausage, and beef look like winners to me if you are up to making your own meals. I've done my own pork dehydration and done biscuits and gravy on the trail and it's substantially better than MH. You can easily bring tortillas, cheeses, seasonings, rice, pasta, and do your own meals for far less than than the $5/pouch Costco deal.

These sorts of deals should break down the price per calorie, and the shelf-life. Those interested in lightweight food should also have access to calories per oz, or some such metric.

Very disappointing a food product doesn't contain nutritional information in a readily accessible way.

I took my own advice and got a can of diced beef, ground beef, chicken, and pork. I can't wait for trail tacos. Thanks OP.

Looking at my history, Costco was cheaper by $10. It was $40 off 150 for a 6 pack of chicken and rice last April. But I may be tempted for some beef and chicken cans.

Somehting is off. When you join the news letter and wait for your 20% off coupon code, MH20NEWS, it replaces the 50% and adds all extra that was left out, but total is still same to 50% off just scaled. So In reality could have gotten same final price for just joining membership and getting free code. Seems like they did the 50% off deal but added additional to base amount making it seem like your getting 50% off but in reality is only 20% of original.

If you scroll down, there are three options and default is description (third tab nutrition)

MH is always off on calories. Look at their three day supplies and they are at about 1000 calories a day. For reference, look at military MRE which are designed for highly active soldiers. Those are 2-3k each.

It's really hard to stay positive in stressful situations when you're hungry.
