QVC/HSN are cancelling orders, closing accounts and blacklisting addresses if a customer attempts to use a 'New Customer' discount code more than once.

What's your source for this? If it's really the case, they'll lose most of their SD referral business.

This was my experience. I recently placed an order for a TracFone on QVC. The order went through. A pending charge appeared on my credit card the day of the order. The next day I received an email from the QVC "Customer Verification Team" stating that my order had been cancelled. The reason cited was that I had multiple accounts. The QVC account associated with the cancelled order was administratively closed.

This phone is painfully slow. As in taking a full second just to open the text message app

Never had a prepaid. I am needing something for my kiddo. I don't need 2. Could I use 1 for a year and then swap to the other for year 2? Or is there a max wait period to activate?

You can activate the first phone, then activate the second with a transfer of service from the first. That way you will have two years of service on one phone. No reason to wait, except if you want to unlock the first phone, you might want to wait 60 days before activating the second.

Depending on the kid's usage though, this might not be a great option. Some teens/preteens will go through 1.5B in a day, instead of a year. And refills are $10 per GB or 1000 points if you do the rewards program.

Can you use the sim card on another phone once you activate it, or after it unlocks after 60 days?

If you're going to use the phones, look at the G Play 2024 deal. Better phone than the Samsung.

a03 is just too low of a spec. Might as well get the Moto G play 2024.

This - I think - is the "Achilles heel" / weakest point of these Tracfone deals. Even when kids are NOT using the phone on the road and ONLY use the device when Wi-Fi is available, the OS or Apps seem to use data (tmaybe o check if there are updates etc.?) that the 1.5GB data gets used up in almost no time. I have verified this by turning OFF the Data on the device and keeping the device with me while on a road trip. The data balance was still less by a few megabytes when we reached the destination compared to when we started.

Are there any other tweaks / settings on the phone / Android to prevent these "phantom data balance drains" ?

Thanks for any feedback,
-Topper
