ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

it says for security reasons. i changed 3 different cards, none worked. So they will not let me order for now? i assume do not call?

You meant you already got 9 during this sale? This sale just occurred about 1 week after they raised the price from the previous sale.
I've ordered 9 so far from this current sale.

Looks like your address is flagged. Same thing happened to me. I even tried making a new account under my wife's name, and used her credit card. Same issue.

Also, be warned that the number you are transferring to Metro will be forever gone if your order fails (for port in deals).

I was trying to order an iPhone 12 for the Pixel 9 trade in deal, and ended up losing two GV numbers on which I spent $3 each to unlock. I knew this could happen on the second attempt, but decided to roll the dice.

So I am pretty sure my address is not going to work anymore. Definitely not doing any more port in deals at Metro anymore as it is like $3 a pop to see if the order will go through. Thank goodness I wasn't trying to port a legitimate number.

Your gv number for failed order will be released by metro and available for new orders after about 6 hrs.

Ordered one and got it a week ago, BUT when I go to order one more would not proceed at all.
On the A9+ page It states:

Sorry, you are not eligible to add a new line. Please contact support to discover the reason for ineligibility. 1-888-8metro8

Would not even let to proceed.
Add to Cart is grayed out.

Have not activated the A9+ 5G yet, waiting for the new billing date to start.

You need to activate it to be able to order a new one.

Good to know that, thanks! Do you happen to know if GV numbers can be used in Metro stores to port in?

Don't see why not, but almost everyone who has gone into a store has had a bad experience. There is an additional activation fee (listed on the top of the web page for the phones), they upsell insurance, cases etc.

Most stores/employees won't accept gv number for port-in promotions, but if you are lucky, it will work. There are few reports of successful port-in of gv promotions. If you don't want to try your luck or get scammed by stores, it is better to do it online.
