This is the best HP impact driver they make. It used to come with the HP hammer driver kit. Now they include the cheaper non selectable torque model. It's on a hackable sale currently for $59.50 plus whatever taxes your location charges. Just return the battery as usual.

What is the new compact one? I have the compact version that I bought a few years ago and I greatly prefer the M12 over it. The startup delay is somewhat maddening. I also prefer the M18 impact over this Ryobi (for size if nothing else) but I'm tempted to pick one of these up as a banger for outdoor projects and to replace my 3 legacy Ryobi versions that I never use anymore :-).

The new model seems to be labeled as a compact series, so it's thinner with the drawback of 1,900- inch lbs of torque compared to this model (PBLID02)'s 2,200-inch lbs.

I stated it was in the listing at the top. According to the ryobi chart it is a well. The PBLID01 matches the specs, but doesn't have the selectable drive mode to limit torque. It may be better for full time construction use, but I prefer this model. I have two for when I'm building things to keep multiple bit sizes loaded for speed. I've sold off any other models I've had once I landed on these. Definitely worth having a back up if you expect to lose one soon.
Is the PBLID01 the same specs? I actually have that one, which I bought a while ago as back-up, but it just looked so inferior to this one.

The M12 Fuel has lower torque but more anesthetic ergonomic design along with the light and buttons. Their prices on deals are not much different.

I have the M12 and it's great around the house for light duty use. I have the Surge version and prefer it most of all for driving normal screws. It doesn't compare to this for big boy work though and M12 battery life is pretty low even on the 6Ah batteries. The M12 is a pretty niche group in my opinion. For automotive use it's great, but for everything else I stick with my Ryobi 18 and 40v.

This delivers the highest torque per dollar. Super impressive at 2200 for just $60!

Do they record the serial numbers during purchase at the store? My old one broke so I bought a replacement at full price in-store to finish a project. Then I ordered this hack. Hoping I can return the sealed one for full refund at the store.

I had it shipped to my house. So I can just return the battery by itself at a local Home Depot with no issues?

I just tried returning the battery and it was a no-go at my local HD in Lincoln Park, Chicago.

Just ordered one hopefully it works with the ice auger with this much of torque. I ll probably keep the battery after all I don't think it's a bad deal. I only need charger now maybe eBay.

You can 100% return the new one against the higher price receipt. No serial numbers recorded

I have some brushed M12 drill saw tools and like them a lot when doing something on a ladder or in a tight space. A few weight lighter feels like a big difference on your hand. I will try this tool but I don't like the Ryobi LED design. It's a dump useless design.

This worked for me. I ordered both the impact driver and battery for delivery and had 2 different delivery dates. Right after ordering, I went into my account and was able to cancel just the battery

Looks like this particular tool only hackable deal is dead unless I'm missing something. You can buy the tool+battery single item for $119 or combine the tool+battery item with the free 4ah battery.
Hoping I'm missing something.

I finally picked up my order after it sat for a week and, for the first time, I managed to get the battery cancelled. Had a couple eagle eyed reps reject my cancellation before but this time it worked.
