AdGuard filters website based on the filtering lists you enabled, and allow cosmetic filtering (aka, removing ads from a webpage when both loaded from the same source). AdGuard Home does DNS filtering and don't do cosmetic.
PiHole - ad block at home
Revanced (or SmartTube for TV) - ad free youtube (android only)
ublock origin - Firefox, browser based ad blocker
I find I need to use all of these to block all ads... and a few still get by.

However, my daughters have iPhones and iPads that constantly complain about ads on their phones. So I bought this great deal for $16 for their 4 devices.

AdGuard is great and I maxed out the license as someone else in this thread, it day and night using it to browse the internet, I know immediately that I have it off just by opening one page and seeing all the trash it removes.
I used it in my work computer in the office that I can't route to my private home network, so PiHole would be useless in this case.
The last version also blocks ads in the Windows 11 system, which is great. Big fan of this software and highly recommend for parents too, it can block 18+ content on the devices using the available filters, for tech savvy people, lots of customization possible.
