Pure sinewave is only need if running extremely sensitive equipment such as medical equipment, motorized tools or life support systems. Simulated sine is perfectly fine for computers, servers, or any electronics that doesn't have a motor running in it.

I have this model and its 3 years old. How long do the batteries last? It's been drained once from a 2 day long power outage. Otherwise its just for handling short outages or power blips.

I'm not aware of any mainstream UPS that's lithium-ion. This one definitely is not.

You can usually expect them to last 3-5 years.

When the Staples extra rewards kick in for ewaste then you can turn it in there. Otherwise drop if off anytime to Staples or BestBuy.

Was so sad is that they will end up in a 3rd world country giving kids cancer...

Not fully charging is a good thing to prevent degradation.

Most buy consumer UPSes for typical household electronics (computer, network, entertainment). LiFePO4 drop in is okay if it is compatible and many have been doing this for years. But as you said there are limitations and as I elluded to before, there are risks.
My 5800X3D, 7900 XTX, 27" monitor, 2.0 speakers pull 5.5A at full load (prime95 small FFTs + Furmark).

Per Dakota 12V 10AH LiFePO4, "Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity...
...20A max continuous, 50A max 300 mS pulse. 9.0V max discharge, 11.0V max recommended discharge. For longest lifetime recommended discharge rate 1-5 Amps. The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity than a 10Ah SLA battery."

I personally use LiFePO4 in a small UPS for network equipment.
My gaming computer UPS still has good SLA batteries, when they die I will try LiFePO4.

The first one had maybe 1 or 2 full cycles and the second didn't even have one. Their products in my experience aren't reliable.

I got that version on sale at Best Buy like a month ago for $179.99. It was practically the same price as this one at the time so I opted for the Pro version. I have no complaints with it. It did good with a power flicker the other day. I have my modem, router, nvr with cameras and my computer hooked up to it.
