The problem with NiMH rechargeable batteries is that they are 1.2V not 1.5v like alkaline batteries. Certain devices, particularly those that operate at radio frequencies, will not indicate a full charge with 1.2V NiMH batteries. Lithium batteries do operate at 1.5V, but they are generally much more expensive—at least the ones made in Japan/Korea that have decent mAH capacity.

I typically buy in bulk and distribute amongst friends. This is quite cheap but the yellow ones I got have longer life.

200 pack OOS although the 300 pack is about .03 cheaper a battery

Seriously though, I go through this many batteries in a couple years. How? I have 3 small kids and all of their toys use these and AAA. I'm changing batteries every other week

Amen! I have a bunch of rechargeable batteries but I'll stick with alkaline for the toys, They go through them like water. I would be constantly removing batteries from toy, put them on charger, remove from charger, store the fresh batteries and separated from the used one, it's a huge hassle. Ain't nobody got time for that! Anything below 30 cents per alkaline battery is a deal, this is 16 cents per.

I was thinking the same thing but you dropped some extra knowledge. Yeah I have some battery testers and I was always curious why my 1.2v rechargable batteries were showing basically 50% charged at full charge compared to a 1.5v. That makes sense. I wonder if I can get battery tester designed for 1.2v. But for my Xbox controller and other remote controls the 1.2v is perfect. But I can imagine there's other applications the 1.5v is necessary
