Got this a month ago not on sale, saw it on sale, and got a price adjustment done online. e.z-p.z

Pros
* very effective at pulling the water out of the air

Cons
* loud relative to my prior dehumidifier
* puts out quite a bit of heat

Notes:
*I keep it downstairs so the noise isnt much of an issue
*Heat is off putting in the summer. Will be fine in winter, but likely wont run as often (here in the northeast)
*I keep it at 55%, and my govee at the other end of the room ~20ft reads btwn 54-57
*Havent used the pump yet, but will look to rig something up (no drain/sink downstairs)
*From what I've read, when using the pump, it wont kick on until the internal reservoir fills
up

Overall, happy with initial purchase. Would rate 4.2-4.3/5, might bump it up if/when i utilize the pump.

I have one of these. Works great except the humidity sensor is off by 10-15%. I have 3 other hydrometers that show the same humidity so think the dehumidifier is wrong. Anyway to calibrate or return?

Thanks OP. Picked up two for my basement. The GE I bought was pumping out way too much hot air.

I had the same experience. I think the humidifier only indicates the humidity around it in very close proximity. It wouldn't show the humidity level of different locations

I'm thinking of buying of buying this one as well. Can anyone tell me how hot it gets when it's in the living room or bedroom? How long do you run it for to meet the desired humidity percentage?

Living in S.Ca, we only use humidifier. Las summer, we went to visit in-law in DE. They have small dehumidifier running 24hr, around 3 gal, in the small basement. I had to dump it out eveyday full of water. Man, can't imagine the humid level is so hight. Very surprised.

I get that. Except when I put the hydrometer on top of it, it still shows a big difference. Problem is lowest setting allowed is 35% but that is actually like 50-55%. Means I must run in continuous mode vs set to a certain himidity

You have to run a fan across that hygrometer as well, the air needs to refresh on that sensor, otherwise it takes a few minutes to acclimate (unless you have already given it enough time). Unit won't be as accurate as the hygrometer (because the hygrometer's sensor is a little more direct to the outside/elements, i believe the dehum sensor is really inside the unit, so there is a humidity differential.

Some extra food for thought....

Are your hygrometers calibrated?

How are you calibrating it? (IMO, the best hygrometer is the analog one, as a reference guide).

Another way I've calibrated my hygrometers, is I purchase humidity packs, specific humidity levels, leave it for a few hours to the next day (sometimes I forget), then I'll adjust it to 60, 65, 70% (depending on the moisture claims on the pack).

Would you recommend this or Midea cube 20 pint for $179 for my 500sq ft apt which is at 85% humidity?
The cube is the only dehumidifier that hasn't broken in the first 1.5 years. That is a hard recommend from me dawg.

Just bought one on Sunday. The unit works very well, but the it only has two fan mode, low and high, and both of them are loud. Little bit too loud if used in the bedroom. I wished it has quiet mode.
Good to know. Though if it's supposedly good for anywhere near its energy star rating of 4500 sq ft, i don't see the point in locating it in your bedroom. I've only got a 1500 sq ft house; I could dehumidify my bedroom even if it was located at the opposite end of my house in the kitchen. No noise problem in that case.

I had two Toshiba (re-skinned Midea) dehumidifiers crap out on me after only one season of usage.

I've owned this for a couple months. Here are my thoughts. The fan is pretty loud on low and high, don't put it near you. It does a great job dehumidifying a large space. Last I checked, my kill-a-watt estimated a $7/month electricity cost. It runs often. The pump feature works flawlessly; I have it routed to a sump pump.

My biggest complaint: the evaporator will frost over. The unit will continue to run and get really loud. This is a pretty big annoyance (noise). My previous dehumidifier off Amazon never had this happen in the same space.

Overall, I recommend it as long as you aren't going to be close to it while it's running.

Edit to add: it does eventually shut off to let the evaporator defrost, but it's not immediate. I've manually turned it off to defrost it a few times bc I couldn't deal with the noise until it figured it out itself.
