Roborock confuses the hell out of me with these constant model changes. How does this stack up with some of the other models like the QRevo S, QRevo Master, S7/S8?

Also anyone compare Roborock to Dreame? Are they basically the same thing? I have a Dreame L20 Ultra and it is....OK. Looking at getting another vac w/ mop for upstairs.

You can try to chat them and ask for a price match. I did this for a Sony TV that we bought that was within the 90 day return policy but outside of the 30 day match. I asked I they could price match because it would be less of a hassle for me and them to rebuy and return the old TV than for them to price match me. They made an exception and price matched for me. So doesn't hurt to try!

This is the same as the Q Revo but with some extra accessories. The "QX" is just a Costco-exclusive created model name.

I would imagine these (along with the drag pad mops like the sharks) will start to discount (over time) as they phase out… the new premium is like the new Eufy S1 pro robot vacuum that cleans the mop roller as it goes so it's not mopping the spills, dirt and grime spots all over the clean floors.

I don't think I've ever seen exposed copper contacts, probably because pure copper oxidizes ridiculously easily. A nickel-plated copper contact is much more common.
Whatever it is, portions of it are discolored compared to how it looked when it was new, and it has what looks like marks on parts of them. My other robo vacs from other brands dont have these issues, so its very strange.

We bought this earlier this year and recently returned it. The mop functionality was great but it didn't vacuum well. I cleaned out the suction port and roller. Nothing was ever in the dust bin after it emptied. We would watch it roll over hair and food particles on the floor and tbh eye still be there.

Could be user error or maybe we got a defective unit, not sure. Just sharing experience. I wanted to love it but didn't.
Most definitely a defective unit.

I just bought it 3 months ago. There was a thread on this before but this contacts problem was not discussed. I had the Ecovacs that used to get lost everyday, will get stranded. This has been working good in that respect. Good thing I looked at this thread. Has anyone tried one of those corrosion resistance conductive grease?

How does multi floor work? I want to put the base in one floor, and manually drop it upstairs have it do it's thing and then manually bring it back down to dock it.
Also - how well does it do with object avoidance - bedrooms have lots of socks, etc on the floor?

I just got the Dreame L20 Ultra from Amazon deal for $630. It is a far more premium product to the roborock s8 max pro i paid $800 for refurbished.

My main floor is all wood and tile and the Dreame does a much better job mopping than the roborock. It also has a soap dispenser and the water tanks are bigger. I moved the roborock to a floor with mostly carpet.
Bought same deal. The L20 obstacle avoidance is way ahead of the S8 Pro Ultra. Has successfully cleaned everyday since I got it while navigating a house with the fallout from two young kids and a dog. The S8 got demoted to the second floor.

Great overall vacuum but I found an issue with my, the robot charging contacts start to oxidize and it seems like when the robot docks it does not make a solid connection so it never charges, I first started having the problem about 6 months into ownership and just wiped down the contacts a few times on both the bot and dock and it seemed to be good but now its happening almost every month. Since the robot was a gift to my mom, it becomes annoying having to go over to her home to fix it every time since she not technology savy. I got an extended warranty through amazon on it, so I might just end up putting it for a replacement or repair, its a little over a year old now.
Dielectric grease on the contacts will prevent oxidation

I bought a brand new Dreame Ls10 for $550 (?) couple months ago and like it enough to buy a returned one for $400 (it arrived like new). Both of them have been working flawlessly so far. They alternate between vacuum only and vacuum + mopping every other day. And on main floor, I set them to avoid carpet as I have a lot of rugs on this floor

I just went into my app to answer the below question because I have the vac setup on my phone as well, and its offline, which means it didnt dock properly again because of the contact issue..... Like I mentioned this problem is happening more and more.

I will go ahead and give that Dielectric grease on the next one I get, cause this is ridiculous, poor design on Roborocks part not to make a larger surface area on both the dock and the vac to verify its connected and charging compared to a little needle point, like they have now.

Yes, you would map your one floor, than in the app I cant tell you specifically but there is an option to add another floor, and then you would just let it map that one. When time comes to clean move the vac to the other floor and just switch in the app to that floor and run whatever clean you want to do. The mopping will probably not work well if thats what you want since it wont have the base to refill from.

As for avoidance, sorry cant speak on that as usually everything is picked up before its run.

Object avoidance... I have the Q Revo (apparently the same as this QX) and it's ok, but not great. Mine gets stuck after sucking something up about once a week. I have 2 teenagers and a cat that like to leave random objects lying around; the house is rarely picked up before vacuum runs at 5am.

I didn't realize this is an issue with what appears to be all current Roborock models (I believe) until I'd already had for 6 months. My understanding is that it's ok as long as the object is large enough to be detected by lidar turret on top. I think other products like Dreame have better object avoidance from what I've read (again don't quote me). Hopefully someone with better experience can chime in on this part.

Disappointing to see someone is trying to return a used product that they are happy with but bought at a higher price. Just because retailers allow it doesn't mean we should exploit it to this extent. How does one live with irreversible bad decisions if a loss of 100 bucks on a 700 bucks bothers so much?

Returns are a tremendous cost to everyone involved, including the customers and planet. Use judiciously. We are the ones who pay for these returns eventually.

Look up data on landfills filled with returned merchandise.
The person said they wanted to buy a new one and return the new one with the old receipt. So they should be able to restock the item since it wasn't opened.

I bought the same one through Costco for $679.99 probably 45 days ago. As Costco doesn't price match beyond 30 days, what are my options here?

Thinking to buy this and return it in place of a previous order instead of returning a used one. Thoughts?
Don't do it as they will match the serial number
