Your comment doesn't even make sense.

Tall people use small step ladders all the time inside their house or in the garage where ceilings are much higher than them.

Many new homes are built with "vaulted" ceilings or 9ft height walls. It's become very common and lucrative add ons for new home builders (probably last 20yrs).

This particular step ladder though, I agree with other comments it's not up to par with other or older built units. It can hold 200s weight wise but isn't very sturdy. Likely to eventually break with regular use for someone in their 200s.

Also I should note that both this and the 3 step version (same load capacity) are often on sale for just $15.

I bought one of these and don't trust it. I have older models and they feel safe and originally also cost $20. I feel this current model has lots of plastic.

They have them in store, so you can go check it out beforehand.

I have one, have used it many times for painting, getting stuff up high in the garage, etc. and my wife uses it regularly. It's always felt sturdy to me 🤷🏻

I don't think he said anything about taller people only average height. He said most people who use this ladder are shorter and weigh less than 225. But if you are shorter and weigh more than 225 lbs then they need help.

Because there are no short bodybuilders?

It was a stupid comment

It feels like the photos are intentionally not showing underneath the steps/how they're supported.

If anyone wants a really sturdy step ladder, little giant ones are the way to go. Not a slick deal at all at over $100, but it's so sturdy it feels like you're standing on actual stairs except they're portable. I have a row of cabinets above my regular kitchen cabinets that I never really used even though I'm tall and now I use them all the time because I have a way of reaching them that actually feels safe so it was worth it to me.

Because most people that use this are short and usually under 225 lbs. If you need to use a step and are over 225 lbs., then you have bigger problems than worrying about the weight limit.
I'm six feet tall and weight 225. I bike 6.5 miles to work, work on a farm for 4-8 hours a day, then bike home 6.5 miles. I still can't reach the things above the fridge in a cabinet. Falls are the number two leading cause of injury death in the world, only behind car crashes. So yeah I kind of worry if the thing I'm standing on is mostly plastic.

Remember Slickdealers if you are a woman and over 5-4, or man over 5-9 and weigh 226 pounds it's forbidden for you to use these because internet strangers said so!

My lovely wife is 300+ lbs ... as far as I know. I learned long ago not to ask or I risk either not waking up again or missing key body parts. Some things aren't worth it.

I have 3 ladders. None are step ladders or easy to use around the house. Two are easy in the garage and outside. The extension ladder is only for 2nd story work.

There are strange shelves around the house that we've never cleaned (or seen) because they are at the 9 ft on a vaulted ceiling that's 15+ ft tall. I think of it as "don't ask, don't tell" areas with the bugs. Before I bought the house, I looked at one of them and saw it wasn't actually painted below where someone 6'5" could see on the back wall down to the shelf. Sometimes it is better not to know.

I have one of these and it works perfect. It's very solid and never feels like I'm pushing the weight limit. I'm 185 lbs

Only thing worse than a dumb ass comment is someone finding an excuse for it. That is all

Remember when looking at weight capacities of ladders to include the weight of your tools, tool belt, or whatever you may be carrying to place higher up.

because there are people who have many ujses for the small ladder like putting those bicycles on top of your car. Painting your walls. Grabbing food from the high shelves. Using it to take photographs and so on. I mean, if it was so useless, im pretty sure no one would make them right?
protip: don't put your bikes on the roof of your vehicle. Have a receiver hitch installed even the vehicle can't pull a lot of weight, bc they have some nice double and triple stack bike holders and that's the way to go for bicycles

Agreed - the pro grade is worth the price increase. Rock solid. I could do backflips off it.

sounds good! I think i do prefer hitch as well since the idea of bicycles being on top of the bike does scare me a bit if it falls off. haha
