I purchased my 700w model when I went off to school in 1989, and have used it nearly every day for 35 years. It probably takes 30 seconds longer to heat up my coffee than most folks' microwaves, but if I have to endure that terrible, terrible burden in exchange for an expected half century or so of use, so be it. Plus, as a bonus, I didn't have to buy 'retro' - it became retro all on its own!

I've used a 700wtt micro with my family for 20+ years. Works fine as it's mainly for heating left overs or quick meals for kids

I've got a 700w microwave - if I put a frozen meal in it for 15 minutes, I'll be needing a fire extinguisher and a new microwave. If it was taking you 15 minutes, your microwave was defective and was not putting out the advertised 700w. The standard they seem to use for time instructions is 1100W, so just add 50%. 4 minutes frozen meal should take no more than 6min.

700 watt. So no one's microwave directions will be correct for you. Add more time.

The only way this small underpowered microwave would make sense is if your application needed low power like a RV build or something.

I use 2 of these at my double-wide, one for each side. They work great for warming coffee but it would take a dozen of them to defrost a turkey, just sayin.

I don't think any microwave from back in the past has ever looked like that.

People keep talking about heating up coffee, which isn't hard to do. Good luck with something like a frozen dinner. The 4 minutes it should take are going to turn into 12-15 minutes. I've had a low powered microwave before. It's nearly pointless. It's the same amount of time to cook something on the stove.

99% of Retro isn't about what things used to look like, it's about what you and your trend chasing Hipster circle of friends who weren't born at the time imagine that things used to look like Wink
If you really want things to look like they used to, you want 'used' rather than 'retro'.
(buying 'used' is a lot more landfill friendly as well, for those who value such things)

I had to return it. Literally would not heat food, but all the buttons and knobs worked, including would spin.

Turns on.. spins food doesn't heat ANYTHING at all!!

Brand new out of box.. plugged it in.. set clock.. read the entire manual. Sound food but does NOTHING in terms of heating food.. literally nothing. Defrost, cook, reheat, all do nothing .. worthless junk.
The one I bought today, appears to work fine. So maybe try another one?
