Since this has an empty M.2 2280 slot, can I put a 4TB or even 8TB M.2 drive in there or does Lenovo artificially limit the space in one of both of these 2280 slots?

No artificial limit. Only factor which I can think of is the Width of the SSD. The 4TB or higher capacity SSDs are normally double sided, having memory chips on both side, and a bit thicker. Some super slim laptops may have issue to add them due to thinner form factor. I'm not sure but I think this laptop can take dual sided SSD as well.

This is way better in every aspects. The Build Quality of this machine is way better as this is the most premium series from Lenovo's consumer lineup.
  • CPU Performance: CPU performance is similar but since this has newer 14th Gen Meteor Lake Architecture, it is far efficient.
  • GPU Performance: This has 100W RTX 4050 which is more than 3X powerful than the integrated Iris Xe Graphics in the VivoBook. Even the Integrated Intel Arc Graphics in Core Ultra 9 185H is good amount of faster than the Integrated GPU in 13900H.
  • Build Quality: This has one of the nicest Build Quality among any Consumer laptops with full CNC Aluminum Chassis, no flex and solid hinge. VivoBook 16 Flip does not even come closer.
  • Display: This has a 3.2K 400 nits Touch display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and near 96% Adobe RGB color gamut with factory calibration vs the 300-nits full HD 300-nits IPS display with just 60% sRGB color gamut. This Yoga Pro 9 is perfectly suited for any kind of professional Photo and Video editing.
  • Ports: The ports are also better here and this has a Thunderbolt 4 port, missing in VivoBook.
  • Sound:As you can see from the configuration, this laptop has a6 Speaker system and one of the best sounding Windows Laptops out there.
  • Battery: Despite having a dedicated GPU, this has a pretty solid Battery life as well, due to a pretty big 84 WHr Battery, vs 50 WHr in VivoBook.
