Still overpriced but it's how apple usually is. Glad to see finally a MacBook air deal that has more than 8gb memory lol

Available on Amazon for the same price, but I believe with Costco you get extended warranty included.

Agree with this, I've been following M2 and M3 Macbook Air deals for a while and except for the rare YMMV deal (e.g. Microcenter price matching), a $250 discount vs the more common $200 discount is the best deal most of us can reasonably get.

I think I recall the best deal on the M2 Macbook Air was $1200 for equivalent configuration (16GB/512GB) and this was AFTER the M3 was released. It probably makes sense to spend the extra $50 bucks and get the newer M3 for marginally better performance, dual external monitor support, and 2 extra GPU cores. The extra year of warranty and generally great customer support from Costco tips this over the edge.

Wow! Thanks for this insight! Genuinely exactly what I was hoping to better understand. Marginally better performance with the newer core, extra cores, etc. Not stuff I understand, but that seems to be the general sentiment. Pulling the trigger on this.

The real question is if Costco will retroactively let me upgrade to the "Executive membership" even though I bought this on "gold" level. Cheers!
The dual external monitor support is nice on the M3. May or my not be useful for you, but that's why I got M3 over M2

not a good deal imo... priced too close to the pro versions for incremental gain. you are paying so much money just for that extra 8gb of ram with the chassis, screen, and keyboard of a $600 macbook air.

I would suggest looking for a used 16gb macbook air m1 or m2 on facebook marketplace. if you are patient you can snag one for half the price of this (I got mine for $650 last summer and has barely lost any value)

good to know! Do you have any insight as to if this is a good deal? Im out of touch when it comes to computers, but the family finally wants to upgrade an outdated Macbook Air for fairly frequent and heavy photo editing using Lightroom. Because of that, I've been specifically hunting for a 16GB RAM offering. Hoping this is the one.
What is the cpu on your current macbook air? Even a m1 8gb macbook air should be enough for that, they are going for less than $500 near me

Any ways to use AMEX for this Costco Macbook air deal? I thought Costco.com allowed to buy costco shop card using AMEX as a payment method that then can be used to pay for it but don't see it any more as an option on costco.com while checking it out.

Costco no longer allows AMEX cards to be used.

Should I return mine to Amazon? I get 5% from Amazon's and only 1% from Costco, but Costco has 2nd year warranty
Nope. Take the guaranteed 5% over a warranty that you will most likely not use.

does an exec membership make this a better deal somehow that i'm missing or is that an unrelated desire on your part? tia

editing with an unrelated question of my own. i have a m1 air with a busted screen. i haven't used it since replacing but obviously it still has some value. anyone have thoughts on the best thing to do with it? is there a reputable non-apple repair? (since i think apple would charge more than it's worth). or should i try to sell it (ebay/offer up) as is, or else maybe try to wait for any time with boosted trade in value if that comes?

Anyone have an idea when the Air might get a refresh in terms of the look of it?
Yeah you don't need a refresh. It's a laptop… it's gotta screen and a keyboard. Buy a sticker or wrap to change the aesthetics

If you are executive member, that's only $12 difference

Good upgrade from a mid 2015 MBP or should I opt for pro instead?

M4 right around the corner in, might be worth holding out.
Won't get the MacBook Air M4 until around March of 2025. About a year from the M3 Air release

This should be the minimum spec.

I would sell it tbh. You prob can get around 300-400 for it still. Don't waste money on a repair

What are the realistic chances we see Macbook M3 16GB/512GB for $1,100 or less by end of year?
