Sorry about the confusion. The main offer I posted was for 100Mbps, but select locations might get a better offer of 500Mbps for the same price.

I work in IT and we work with multiple end users that have spectrum and I would NOT recommend it to anyone who plans to use it as a WFH, video broadcast or Gaming option. Uploads are laughable (usually under 20mbps and usually goes under 10mbps if you use a VPN) and they have really hight latency (ping). I am sure results vary by location but I have yet to see a spectrum end user with good upload speeds/latency.
Agree for the most part BUT unfortunately not all people have the option to choose from multiple ISPs and if you are lucky enough to have other choices, the price can be 2x more. Sure, IF, you have the ability to go symmetrical with fiber, for $10-$15 more, go for it. For some, the only other option is 5G internet and latency is even higher

This package has 100mbps/10mbs upload, same upload speed as the 300mbps package. Wifi is $7 extra and $1.25 "CA recovery fee" here (new fee).
They are rolling out symmetrical speeds everywhere by the end of next year, but certain places have them already. I signed up for this for my parents who only barely use internet, mostly for IoT devices and streaming cable TV. 100mbps works fine unless you're downloading large files all the time. Price is better than ATT Uverse 24mbps plan.

In my experience, if its stable you wont have problems. If you have a consistent issue it will be a nightmare to fix. The only other issue is if there IS an outage, it usually lasts less than 1 minute or 4+ hours, never in between.
Only other option is Verizon 5G wireless, which isn't suitable since I work from home. Not even sure if they give you a public IP address.

Same, but it depends on what kind of Spectrum connection they have and what competition.
  1. Spectrum Fiber with no competition: Connectivity will be good and rarely drop but expect same speeds as COAX ie 100 down 15 up. Why? You know the answer. I would advise get your own router.
  2. Spectrum Fiber with competition: Somehow speeds are now synchronous and price matching exactly as your competitor. Again get your own router
  3. Spectrum COAX (with or without competition): it really depends on how old the infra is. I am stuck with this but its a newer community and rarely have issues. But I bought my own DOCSIS 3.1 Modem and router. My neighbors have issues but I do not and I suspect cause of poor router placement and slower older modem/router combo.
Most of the time connectivity issues stem from low powered routers. Too many sessions that the CPU cannot keep up with or not enough resources to handle too many clients at the same time.

On a side note, I do selfhost some stuff and have family and friends accessing my server all over the world. It works just fine. Not as fast and good as when I had fiber but it works,

Spectrum Internet has been better than the Verizon 5G Home Internet Plus for me. Much more stable speeds. YMMV. I've been with them for years. Only switched to Verizon 5G Home Internet Plus (had it for 6 months) when they had the free Xbox Series X and $200 Amazon GC offer. I'm back on Spectrum.

That's when you cancel and rejoin to get new customer price at that time. It works, been doing it for 6 years for me and my parents. Even the spectrum store rep told my parents to do that. Yes you have to return the old modem and get a new one in the mail and set it up, but it's easy and fast. worth it to save $$

I'd like to try this. How quickly can you dump them and then resign? Is it an issue if the same name/credit card is on the account?

The link shows the 100Mbs deal, but after putting in my address, the slowest/cheapest one is 300Mbs for $39/month. Also note in the facts label, the rate goes up to $50/month and there's a $30 activation fee (self install).
