You are guaranteed a new battery and new IMEI. If they determine the screen has a scratch or touch defect they replace. I've bought over a dozen trade-in Renewed phones and all appeared to have brand new screens. This is why I only do trade-ins with Samsung direct. Avoiding the fake and g eBay and Amazon "reconditioned" falsehoods.

Edit: My iPhone SE (Gen 1) was bought at Best Buy years ago. I never activated it. I only used it as an MP3 player. Will I be able to trade it in? What's an activation lock?
No, you have to pick your trade in phone from a drop down list. Only the phones on the list are qualified, but every phone has a $300 trade in value.
