...it seems like if you get them in the restaurant, you're either going to get REALLY GOOD ONES that don't cause problems, or REALLY BAD ONES that do. Total coin toss.
But if you get them frozen, they'll ALWAYS be KIND OF good, with almost no variability. So they won't be as good as the restaurant ones on a good day, but will always be the guaranteed safer choice.
