I've purchased multiple Mackie products in the past. Sound great while they work, but they always died young. Fool me once (or more) shame on you...
Tempting, but I'm going to pass!

Ratings don't look amazing on Amazon. Hard pass even though I am looking for something like this.

Looks like they could benefit from an RCA cable upgrade. It would probably improve the sound, because the included cables look anemic

It seems like a fair price, if you can keep your expectations in check. Tempted, but I will pass. I rather spend a little more for better quality.

FWIW: I found the following opinion on a Reddit post.

"They're small, have one driver, are made of plastic, and have "capacitive touch" functionality. That seems like they're designed to be very niche. Only someone who wants special tech on their speaker and needs small speakers would get them. Also they look to be sealed but specs say they hit 58hz? I have a hard time believing that. Especially since the matching sub is tiny with a 6.5" driver, only 60 watts of peak power, and is listed as playing from 40hz to 200hz. If the speakers get to 58hz wouldn't you want a sub that gets a lot lower? And why does it need to go to to 200hz? Are the speakers not doing that?

It just seems like all the money is going towards their "features" instead of their sound. Maybe they are good, but I don't think I'd bother.

Edit: oh also the sub as adjustable RGB lighting. That seems like a waste of money for something that will be at your feet lol"

There really aren't enough reviews on Amazon to draw a strong enough opinion either way for me.

Huh? 51 reviews with headlines like "sound issues", "unusable", "just get something else", "buzzes like mad", "bad customer support", "no highs", "questionable design decisions", "distortion at high volumes" amongst the unpaid, verified purchase reviews.

Fakespot review grade is a solid "F"!

How would these compare to other similar style/price like the pebble, edifier desktop speakers etc.

These days, 4.1 is actually pretty crappy.

Anyone here with first hand experience that could chime in if these are comparable or better than the Bose companion speakers? Thanks

Well when you consider that there are a total of nine three, two and one star reviews combined then yeah, it's a bit thin. I'm not praising these things but also not going to condemn them either based on this little amount of information.

"distortion at high volumes" heh!!! that's what happens!!! pushed over 50-60% almost all amps distort, Nakamichi used to point that out, as theirs was about the only that didn't.
