Review and specs: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Ace...784.0.html

CPU: 7320C: Mobile Quad-Core APU using four Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.4 to 4.1 GHz and SMT (8 threads).
iGPU: AMD Radeon 610M: Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Ram : 8GB which is plenty for a chromebook at this price point.
Ports: 1HDMI, 2 USB-C and one USB-A.

The reviews call this a quality budget chromebook with a solid, but not premium, build quality that makes compromises in the right places.

But... 1080p vs 1200p. 128GB vs 256GB. No backlit kb vs backlit kb. $330 vs $300. Warranty doubled via Costco on this one. Not sure how the igpu's compare.

Is this a good deal and laptop with backlight keyboard? Can it play brawl stars and other Google Play store games?

Seems better than this one from a month or so ago. I picked up this one and haven't opened it yet, but this current deal seems to have a better screen resolution, backlit keyboard, and Ryzen processor. Not sure if it's $50 better though.

Maybe not, the limit is the system environment. Unless you can install it on chrome OS. Windows11 64bit OS is the best system for gamers. The alternative way you can try is through cloud gaming services. Game will run on the provider's devices remotely and it get stream to you. Subscription plan required.I have only test on MAC OS.

Plus, in the title, means this model is guaranteed for 10 years of updates on a machine that has hardware to be still powerful in 10 years. Math is $2.75/month over 10 years.

Good deal!

Youd have to be crazy to pay this for a chromebook especially given their short life spans and support.

Simply as a comparison to the depth of discounts… an Acer 516 Corei5 16" has been as low as $270 refurbished on eBay.

This of course is brand new and with all the Costco coverage and a different model that's a smaller screen, lower resolution, but a touchscreen. The resolution however is solid for web browsing and casual video watching… don't misunderstand lower to mean not good.

It depends on what the priorities are… but for $315 (incl shipping), this model is competitive and arguably slightly more portable.

If I wanted to squeeze every dollar and value the different specs, I wait for the 516 to go on sale again.

I don't think they have terrible life spans / support. It's typically 8 years from when the chip came out if not longer, and could be used after the cutoff date.

The real problem with ChromeOS is that as of about a week ago they are hinting that they are about to deprecate a bunch of extensions, including rock solid ones like uMatrix, probably because of Manifest V3 changes. And the adblockers are already feeling neutered on Chrome. Especially not working on YouTube, when other OS + browsers +/- addons work flawlessly.

These changes will make it unusable for me, especially at the low-end. I have 4 GB RAM and very low internal storage, so I actually deleted my Crostini Linux container to free up space. I got a lot of mileage out of my $80 Chromebook, but it's time to move on after it dies. I think my last ditch effort will be to powerwash it to reclaim all storage, activate Crostini again, then install Brave or another browser within the container.

If this was a convertible, I'd consider it.
