I got this two weeks ago for $699 @best buy and $200 off with Amex and it's just absolutely incredible. A true generational jump from anything else that preceded oled, I'd suggest it to anyone whether it's work or gaming. Also looks beautiful from the back

I have no clue how people use these, I tried it once for 15 minutes and it gave me huge headache that I had to go lay down for a few hours. Images and games look great, but any text is absolutely the worst. I did try clear text and mactype and it did nothing for me.

The manufacturers and Microsoft really need to get together to fix text rendering with OLED monitors. It would be an easy driver level fix, but no effort has gone into it.
are you taking about the oled text, or the curved uw?
It took me a couple days to get used to my curved uwqhd, but after that, no issues. mine is a VA panel though.

I use mine daily. I have 0 issues reading text on it.
Same. I thought it was going to be a big issue, as I'm someone who is very sensitive to weird screen door effect caused by odd subpixel layouts or digitizer layers. But after a few days, I got used to the way text looked, and I have no issues. That's even with an ordinary LCD (HP X27) sitting next to it.

HDR on this monitor is really beautiful for games and movies. The only slightly annoying thing is having to be conscientious about running the panel refresh, but that's not a deal breaker. Still seems a little expensive considering I got this Open Box from Best Buy for like $630 over a year ago.

Doesn't the panel refresh happened automatically?

I think it does but I've never had it prompt me or do it automatically

Because you can use DP. But yes... this should have 2.1. It came out during a time it would had been perfect. I'm OK not paying my console on it as I have a dedicated TV for that, but should at least give us that option when it was initially released.
the built-in Console Mode for the monitor makes up for lack of HDMI 2.1

Excellent monitor. Matched it with a RTX 4080 for 18 months now. No complaints.

Between this and the samsung oled g8, I went with the g8. Same panel with more features. It has a power brick but if it goes bad I think it's definitely easier to replace then a built in power supply on the alienware

Oh well… just bought a new monitor last week. Best Buy price matched micro center on the 32" Samsung G6 curved 2K smart monitor for $399. Got it mounted and cables managed anyway and don't feel like boxing it all back up and redoing everything. I'm quite certain this is a better monitor, but man I just don't wanna deal with setup stuff anymore rn. Getting burned out lol. Guess I will keep what I got and let y'all buy the better stuff
