The delisted Hot Wheels DLC is actually still purchasable via Walmart. I was able to buy a code and was able to redeem it after MS pulled it from purchase on their storefront.

You're still right about everything. I immediately nabbed the Ultimate at $20 and don't regret it.

Things I've heard on Reddit.

This game is going to get delisted and therefore gone forever from the digital store to purchase.

There's only a slight chance it will go lower in the days prior but I wouldn't count on it.

You will not be getting the hot wheels dlc since that's already gone.(unless you purchased it)

No upgrade path aside from buying the Deluxe or Ultimate edition at this price.

If you purchased any dlc for the game before a certain date the standard game may already be in your game library.

And when FH4 was the latest , the "consensus" was the FH3 was better. It's 100% everybody being nostalgic about the last game because they didn't get all of the features they wanted in the new one.
Nostalgia or facts? Horizon 4 is preferred by many for its setting, music, and overall feel. To each their own.

Microsoft is offering me the Ultimate edition for a flat $10 as a special buy. Perhaps because I already owned the standard.

I had some DLC I'd gotten for my kids to use with the GamePass version in the past, but the base game wasn't in my library yet even though I qualified for the freebie. This post reminded me to dig into where my missing code might be. Turns out it was sent to the "xbox message center" of the account I set up on our family xbox. We never actually log in to that account as everybody plays our gamepass games on their own account so we keep our saves separately.
If you're in the same boat as me, check your xbox messages (I read mine in the xbox app on my phone), my code had been sitting there since 6/28/24...

I got the same offer and jumped right on it. Everything for $10. I never bought the base game either. But I did buy one of the DLCs and add-on packs.

That sucks.. seems I had purchased the "Ultimate" bundle, but before this DLC came out, so I don't have it Stick Out Tongue

Guess I can do the Walmart purchase for the completionist in me... Smilie

The ultimate version never came with this DLC. It was always a separate purchase.

Right. But still, as I have regional pricing, could have picked it up for next to nothing if I had been aware.. Oh well...

FWIW, I'm not a car person at all (and barely a gamer), but this game came bundled with my console. At the minimum, I thought I might enjoy the countryside. But it's really easy game to get into, and even if you're terrible at racing like me, you can adjust the difficulty. Or ignore the races and just collect houses and barn finds. I ended up also buying the LEGO (fantastic) and Fortune Island (ok) DLCs, as well as Horizon 3 (feels limited but I've barely started).

Was it $10 on the games page or where did you see the $10 offer?

Eneba also has codes for around $9 to $12 for that HW DLC:

It was never part of the bundle. You had to get it separately.

My kids love this game, they have a cheap gaming steering wheel and pedals. We had game pass and played many of the Forza games, the step up from Forza 2 to Forza 4 was major for the kids - especially the younger guy who usually spends most of the time just driving through the fields and fences. A lot less hard barriers and invisible walls for them to contend with.
Went with the $20 ultimate, kids are going to be stoked to get all these new cars to mess around with!

I think your kids will love it. The Hot Wheels DLC is really awesome for kids. For just driving around, Mexico is awesome. A lot of people will complain about the map saying it is just a big open desert, and it is a big open desert in the middle. But there's also pre-Columbian ruins to explore, an abandoned airfield, lots of jungle area, sand dunes, a volcano caldera, open fields, cool mountains with tunnels and suspension bridges, a city with underground tunnels, a twisty canyon, swamps, beaches, and a lot of cool little gems.
