IN-STORE PICKUP NOTE: If you pre-ordered a phone for in-store pickup, make sure that you check your online receipt before picking up your phone. If the full promo value shows up there, then your promo is locked in and that's the deal you will get. However, your promo trade bonus won't show up on your printed trade receipt. It may only mention your base trade value ($145 for an iphonen12, for example). If you're concerned, you should immediately check the BB online receipt for an updated summary that shows the new balance. As long as the "Order Total there is correct, you should be fine. Also, you may be charged for the full phone cost originally but that charge should be processed as a refund after a few days
Trade-in values are based not just on your trade, but also on what model you're buying. When trading an iPhone 12 / 13, you'll get the best trade value when buying a similar model of new Pixel. For example:
iPhone 12 / 13 Pro will get a $999 credit toward a Pixel 9 Pro (update: now $899 credit for 12 Pro)
iphone 13 Pro Max will get a
iPhone 12 Pro Max unfortunately does not receive extra bonus credit
Note: they now appear to be lowering the promotional values that were aimed at certain devices, so promotion values above are mostly dead. Se thead updates for any remaining promo specifics.

1. BB GC has more flexibility vs. Google Store credit
2. BB will deduct taxes off your trade = more saving
3. Trade instore = no headache vs. send in trade to Google's 3rd party
4. Easy return/replacement should there be some defects. Google CS is horrid.
Though a $100 Best Buy gift card is better for most people than a $100 Google Store credit, so that's a factor too.

You buy old 4 year old Apple phone either used or brand new from prepaid carrier. Bring it to Best Buy, they take it at $800 trade in value and hand you a brand new just released Pixel device.
Essentially buying newest Pixel at $200, in this case it's closer to $100 because apparently they're giving everyone $100 gift cards as well?
How is this profitable for anyone involved outside of the sellers of old iPhones (in this case, this year, iPhone 12)? Best Buy must be getting subsidized by Alphabet offering these trade in values, but are people at Alphabet morons? If Pixels don't sell well, stop making them or lower the prices?

i guess final price is technically $150 for an $799 phone
i don't really like best buy so i wouldn't consider that gift card cash but yeh that's the deal
for closer to $350 you can buy the iphone 12 pro and get the pixel 9 pro for free and a $200 gift card,
total there would also technically be $150 for a $999 phone
