90% of morons on this thread will ruin the deal by asking dumb questions to Best Buy and possibly altering them to check trade in phone in details. Just keep your mouth shut when you go there to pick up the phone

Just traded in store iPhone pro max 13 AT&T but different serial number. No questions asked, just checked the model and condition. Got my full refund right away and $200 gift card!

Went to best buy for pixel 9, they said there was a mistake and their system shows 145 value for an iPhone 12, and there were a few people like me there.. Did anyone actually get a full refund for iPhone 12?

Nope. My trade-in had a fair amount of scratches/scuffing at the top and bottom of the screen and it was no problem. The model number didn't matter either. They took 5 seconds to verify that it was an iPhone 12 and continued the transaction.

Just picked up my pixel 9 today looking at my credit card transaction I realized that Best Buy never charged my card prior to pick up therefore no refund is needed. I got the phone completely free. Not sure if this is a single error or anyone else have similar situation because it was clearly stated on the app that full amount will be charged until pick up. But my card was never charged.

Got a Pixel 9 with this trade-in today on Long Island, NY. The process in store was flawless. $108 more since I went with the Pixel 9 256gb. I was not able to change to the XL and retain the trade in benefit from this deal so I stuck with the Pixel 9.

The 9 XL that the sales associate had fit very comfortably in my hands. It felt smaller than it was somehow. Looking back I wish I'd picked the XL at the time of pre-order instead.

I also have an iPhone 13 and the Pixel 9 can easily be mistaken for an iPhone 13 from above with the screens off.

It's not a mistake. The Google promo trade-in value of $654 is applied to the phone first, and doesn't even appear on the receipt. So the final cost of the phone is $145. Then the BB trade-in value of $145 is applied. In the end the agent verified that the full $799+tax should be refunded to my card (possibly in 2 seperate transactions).

The problem is they show only $145, and people say they get receipts showing 145. What if I don't get that Google promotion on my card? Best buy will say the receipt is showing 145 and you agreed to that Smilie

just got back from BB with the same invoice showing 145. got on BB chat and had him confirm the full amount then saved chat. checked bank account and nothing was charged. probably will for taxes tho

Did Best Buy charge your card in the first place because for my bank it didn't even show that Best Buy had a hold. It seems Best Buy never even charged my card

if you ordered 128gb P9 then I'm not sure why you would apply certificate on an order that is $0. And if your order was for 256 or something, you should have applied certificate after the purchase. You can apply certificate to a purchase within 15 days of purchase assuming your subtotal is greater or equal to certificate amount.

Data point: just returned from picking up an online order of the P9 128GB here in NorCal; details below:
  • pre-order price of $869.91 ($799 +tax) was authorized to credit card (back on Aug 14), but dropped off without being charged
  • in-store receipt totaled $12.69, itemized as $145 for the phone, $12.69 tax on that amount, and a $145 credit for the trade-in of the iPhone 12 64GB
  • the bonus $649 trade-in credit from Google was applied automatically, and didn't appear on the receipt's details (and thus not taxed)
