It's made by AUX USA so you can check their reviews. It's hit/miss and most issues stem from poor install and lack of vacuuming (my opinion) from reading peoples install methods. The Costway units for a little more than this cost are also AUX. Other brands private label AUX also.

Midea is one of the other MFGs that make some of the more known brands like Pioneer.

By Not removing the Moisture, it will turn into acid and eat the winding, only a matter of time before she's cooked!...I would remove then pull a vacuum then weigh Charge!

Question: Would the 220V version be superior to the 110V? Thanks
The 110V is out of stock. Only 220V available.
Doesn't really matter. 240v would use smaller wire so over long distances saves copper cost, at the same time takes up 2 spaces in your panel, so need to have the spare room. Other than that no big deal. 110v is nice to tap off existing outlets. For example if you want to add one to your bedroom you can just pop outside the wall behind an outlet, don't need to run from the panel.

Yes, $7k gets you a legit Misubishi unit that will last. All these DIY jobs with trash products gonna fail miserably in a few years.

There's a reason why legit brands dont sell direct to consumer, because if the install is poorly done, the brand gets blamed.
Have two of these generic brand units running for 15+ years now. Same aux manufacturer and 12k btu on 220v. In central TX. 9 months of HEAT. Its does get cold here too and they have kept up.

Assuming you dont get a bad unit, quality just depends on performing a good install, reading and following the install manual and not cutting corners.

I like 220v since i can dedicate a circuit and oversize the wire run.

They run very silent though the WAF is low.

If you can run wire and have space in your breaker box then go 220v.
If you cannot and have a 110v circuit close by with plenty of head room then 110v works.

State of NJ does have rebates on split systems. But check the details, the state initially didn't care who installed it. Later on, they changed the rules by asking for a detailed energy analysis and a pro installer. The trade groups do pump a lot of money into the legislature. NJ keeps trying to force builders to install sprinkler systems in ALL new home builds. Plumber unions and the like push this. Some day they will succeed.

When HVAC guys ask you if you're cool... they're asking if you have a micron gauge. Are you cool?

You want the 120v. Just cheaper and easier depending on the application. Rules change with 240v. Anything needing more than 20amps might gain from higher voltage but not worth the hassle.

Nothing really changes with 240V. Just an extra breaker space/breaker and a smaller wire if you desire so. Thus 240V can even be cheaper.

I bought one. Can I just buy one of the vaccum pump kits on Amazon for like $100 for the install? Seems fairly basic to do and can sell that kit on eBay for 75 once installed.
When there were Tosot deals on Woot!, I bought a total of 4 units and installed them myself. Please see my post link below for tools I purchased to complete the installation:

https://slickdeals.net/f/17511705-tosot-greenland-series-12000-btu-mini-split-620-more-free-s-h-w-prime?v=1&p=171122391#post171122391

You really just need a vacuum pump and adapters. To me, the most difficult part of installation is actually running a conduit to bring power from the panel to the unit.

The system comes precharged with refrigerant. You're supposed to connect the line set and set the valves so that the unfilled portion of the system is connected to the service port so you can pull vacuum to remove any air. That's obviously the correct way to do it. (and free if you use auto parts store loaners)

But if you do that same process *except* you leave one or more line connections loose, you can connect a refrigerant can to the service port and remove the air via displacement and tighten the connections while doing so. It's wasteful, and kinda stupid, but I guess maybe it's faster and easier to grab a small can of refrigerant and a fill hose than lugging your pump and gauges, finding an extension cord, hooking it all up, waiting 10 minutes, disconnecting it all, and lugging everything back. I certainly wouldn't pay good money for someone to do it that way. Then again, I'd do it myself and not pay anyone any money.
This seems like a good product but I didn't try it myself:

It just depends, Are you burring wire? Where does the wire go? What is code? Do you have a 240v backup gen?

Wire is needed is both cases, running the same way, same work. The procedure will be exactly the same with possible a smaller gauge wire for 240. Code will apply equally to both. Yes, if you want to run the mini split on a generator, a splu phase generator would be neded.

my installer didnt vacuum and or pressure test at ALLLL. however its running like a champ for about two weeks.

he said he purged it to make it work. whatever that means.
Not vacuuming is really not a great install, it can cause premature failure. That's why the manufacturer recommends it.
