My personal reco, unless you're a professional needing to pull focus or its added accessories or swap batteries, lidar, you don't need the Pro. Unless you need the extra weight of 6.6lbs then go with the 2, 3 or 4th gen non-Pro. If 4.4lbs is enough, the 3 Mini for $279 new is a better fit imo and what I use for the a7iii with my prime lens. It's the best value ronin at the moment for the price if you don't need pro-features.

no lithium battery should be left for a year without maintenance charging. This is not a nefarious conspiracy theory design but simple physics.

battery protection circuits and batteries slowly discharge over time. if you discharge a battery below a safe threshold (approx 2.8v per cell) they are no longer safe to use. If you let your battery discharge all the way the BMS did its job.

that said, they could have had a poor design with higher discharge than intended. but don't pretend it was on purpose. that's silly.

Buyer Beware - Beach camera customer service email address seems to be undeliverable from google and 800 number is a recording. I got an open box monitor that is clearly defective and looks like I will have to dispute with credit card
