short answer yes

long answer different carriers have different radio frequency zones called "bands" allocated to them by the various authorities, thus you match your phone to those frequency "bands" and if your phone has the right bands it can talk to the cell phone towers that use those bands. This is technical, exact model number is Samsung S146VL - Galaxy A14 5G 2023 (there are multiple versions of the A14 for different carriers and US vs non US) here are all the fancy technical bands it supports which is greek to most people (including me even if I can parse it after sorted.)

Supported Frequency Bands (30) https://www.frequencycheck.com/mo...id=2706927

GSM aka 2g

850 MHz GSM
900 MHz (E-GSM) GSM
1800 MHz (DCS) GSM
1900 MHz (PCS) GSM

UMTS a form of 3G

B1 (2100 MHz) UMTS
B2 (1900 MHz PCS) UMTS
B4 (1700/2100 MHz AWS 1) UMTS
B5 (850 MHz) UMTS
B8 (900 MHz GSM) UMTS

LTE
B1 (2100 MHz) LTE
B2 (1900 MHz PCS) LTE
B3 (1800 MHz +) LTE
B4 (1700/2100 MHz AWS 1) LTE
B5 (850 MHz) LTE
B7 (2600 MHz) LTE
B12 (700 MHz ac) LTE
B13 (700 MHz c) LTE
B20 (800 MHz DD) LTE
B28 (700 MHz APT) LTE
B38 (TD 2600 MHz) LTE
B39 (TD 1900 MHz +) LTE
B40 (TD 2300 MHz) LTE
B41 (TD 2500 MHz) LTE
B48 (TD 3600 MHz) LTE
B66 (1700/2100 MHz) LTE
5G NR

N2 (1900 MHz)
N5 (850 MHz)
N66 (1700/2100 MHz)
N77 (3700 MHz)
N78 (3500 MHz)

for example this will work on Tracfone, Verizon (after unlock) and T-Mobile (after Unlock)

But while it will work on T-Mobile it lacks the bands that T-Mobile uses for its 5g for T-Mobile uses bands 71, 41, and 258, 260 and 261 with its 5g so it is not a great T-Mobile phone even if it works great for Tracfone and Verizon.

DW ordered one and later wished she had ordered the pink case, so we called to see if they could change the order. When the CSR made the change on her end, it took away the promo code and wouldn't let her add it back in because the system now says that the DW is not a new customer because she made that one original order. The CSR was very pleasant and spent a considerable time trying to get the $30 discount back. The bottom line is that she deleted the bandana "filler" and just adjusted the price of the phone to get the total with tax back to what it was in the original order. She could have said tough luck, no can do. But she went the extra mile to make the DW happy. Kudos and thanks to that CSR. I'm telling this story because far too often good customer service is non-existant, and when someone within a company goes over and above to take care of a customer, their efforts should not go unheard. We're quick to jump when we get screwed, but often we don't speak up when we're well taken care of.

Thank you to the QVC CSR.

Folks, just a heads up -- the "1500 Talk/Text/Data" isn't per month, it's for the entire year. It works out to about 4 minutes/4 texts/4mb data per day.

The SIM is preloaded in the phone. You need to activate the phone/service for the SIM to work. Once activated, it'd good for 1 year, but you need to call, text or data activity every 6 months (I text every 2-3 months to be safe). TF phone IMEI and SIM are paired. Do not insert the SIM in any other phone as doing so may get your service deactivated by TF.

Thanks but none of those address my question. Let me ask it this way, have YOU personally activated one of the QVC Tracfones? If yes, HOW SPECIFICALLY did you activate it? Please, don't presume I don't know how to activated the phone. I just want to know how YOU activated the phone. No more or no less.

actually you don't have to do that. Transfer in then transfer out, the phone unlocks itself.
Not always.
It's better to be safe than have to deal with unlocking issues later. Some of the new Motorola G Power phones are not automatically unlocking even when number hasn't been transferred out.

we still have to go to tfunlockpolicy website but according to my past experience with these deals, as long as we transfer out the right way (not putting the sim into another device), they are still eligible for unlocking

Try entering the IMEI number. The numbers on the red card are the IMEI, which is 15 digits, and the SIM card number.
That's not going to work. That's the problem with buying anything TracFone, straight talk, family mobile, total wireless

More recent phones (from 2024) are supposed to automatically unlock like iPhones (no more entering codes and TF unlock website doesn't work for these phones) but several of us are having issues with the 2024 Moto G Power being stuck.
Support says unlocked but phones still say locked, so just because you've done it in the past doesn't mean it will continue to work the same way (Verizon can make changes whenever they want, it's not the old TF).

Since you already know how to activate the phone, just do whatever works for you.

Thank you for not being another Pixel 9 deal. Just too many of those lately.
I'd go for another Pixel if it's around $150.

I got TF Galaxy A15 (newer version of this) with unlimited T/Text and 24gb data for year for $111.64 total less than 2 weeks ago, sold out pretty quick. Cost more than this but gets 4 yrs of android updates and 5 yrs of security updates, much more than other inexpensive phones - (If you deduct cashback it was even less).
Just need to keep checking the site for deals.
Hehe... Got suckered for 1 of this. πŸ˜‚

Latest reviews from Amazon for "Samsung Galaxy A14 5G" do not look good.
I have a couple of A13 5g from Xfinity and it's decent for basic use.

I have A14 as my second phone and I bought A14 for my Mother-in-law, who is not a power user and if she had even slightest problem she would call me for help.
Bot of us have 0 issues with the phone. Not sure what is the experience if the people with bad reviews. I'm really impressed how capable A14, especially for the money
They probably expect an S24 experience.

It was only $100 after cb, unlimited T/T data service alone is more than that. Haven't activated it yet just tried it on wifi - reminded me how much I dislike Samsung OS and forced apps πŸ˜€

Phone calls, SMS, browse a page or two. That's all it could handle on the A13.

Why in the world would you call the qvc support line? Over the color of the case? Wow. It's always risky to mess with these sorts of Slickdeals... Here, it's like you're walking across a high wire, voluntarily, for little potential reward.

Tracfone does work in Canada over Wifi (Wifi Calling and Texting). However you will only be able to communicate (call) with US numbers, not Canadian probably. Not sure about text.
