Do these perform well with the wireless BT cable or best to use the 2.5mm jack? Am I better off just sticking with my Sony WF-1000XM4? Was just about to sell my old Westone 4R as I don't carry a player with a headphone jack anymore and haven't used them in years. Would love to find something similar but more modern/wireless.

If it fits your ear then it works decently - i have no luck with a number of foam sizes/ loose from one ear or another after 10min use. Must use its own bluetooth cable or aux cable because the mmcx on the drives are proprietary. Even both cables fits horrible not staying on ear long. adapter to standard mmcx available from third party amzn or ebay.

Other than those bad things Sounds slightly not different from shure se215 either old bt2 or new tw2.

Not recommended.

Shure TW2 aonic 215 or se215 are awesome even at msrp

You ever try reading?

The sound was amazing from these. However, I had to return mine due to ear fitment issues, it was painful to wear.

How do these compare to all the cheaper chi-fi IEMs?
gonna depends on your preference. but for overall technicalities it's around the $100 marks in the chi fi market. at $130 it's an okay deal but not really all that amazing in today's standard. chi fi market in past year or so has become very mature sound wise especially in the $70~$150 range.

If fits ok it's better than chifi, but needs enough power to sound at 100%, something like 500mw on balanced connection.
Chifi is $20 for something like moondrop chu. This is $130…

How's the bass? Is it hard-hitting or more "balanced" bass?
These have pretty good amounts of bass. They also come with 'bass boost' filters.

I really like these with the bass filters, but it took buying some Comply foam tips to get the right fit/seal for me. I thought at $149 I got a good deal.

Are these better than the ones that Apple constructs for $11 and sells for $200?

Holy....$870 discount. They WILD for that one.
Nobody ever paid a thousand for these. They have been on sale from day 1. I bought a pair 3 years ago for $400. I could never get it to sound anything but tinny. Used a mojo dad amp too. They are a bargain at 130 to some people that like that sound. Maybe they would have sounded better after breaking in.
