I have this in my living room and the sound quality is quite good for $389, and comes with some Sonos app perks if you are into that. Just note the color temperature of this white version is really really cold so it's extraordinarily white.

So many issues with the Sonos App bricking systems that worked just a few months ago. They keep releasing app updates that don't work, work poorly or can't find any speaker in the system. I have 22 Sonos speakers/devices, only one system running the old S1 App still works well and they are forcing an update if you want to add any new additional devices. They won't re-release the app that was working fine in May. The new app sends all user interactions to their server then back to your speakers so they can keep track of what your listening to and from where. They eliminated the ability to play content stored locally on your phone. Even the volume control has to round trip to their server before coming back to your speakers. Check all the chatter on reddit before buying anything Sonos....r/sonos

What's upsetting is they just went through a round of layoffs while the CEO is sitting relatively comfortable with his bone headed choices. So many of their loyal fan base which rivals Apple's loyalty are starting to revolt. That said, I'm happy with Airplaying everything to my Sonos speakers and knock on wood that hasnt been affected by the server centric app change.

Sonos CEO: make your move speakers compatible with the tv surround sound system, you coward. Then I would consider getting your expensive soundbars

Still have not come across anthing better yet though. BlueSound is pretty good, but the app is weird. Started playing with a Wiim device, but then you need external compnents. Sonos is still the best I have seen for an easy, cohesive solution. I will say that starting to see the speakers on Woot is not a great sign for the company.

I have the beam, sub mini, move, couple of their earlier sat speakers and I regret getting into their ecosystem at all tbh.

You basically have to spend a ridic amount to achieve any substantial sound. Add in their ceo flipping the finger to customers over their own created app fiasco, I wish I could just sell off everything and start over but as with anything like this selling takes an obvious huge depreciation hit…

Do not buy any Sonos products - they are sadly on their way out of business and their proprietary products may be bricks in a couple years.

The new app sucks no doubt. Even the previous version was crap tbh. But to think that Sonos is going out of business anytime soon is beyond naive

There is more chance of a rocking horse walking than Sonos going out of business "in a couple of years"

News flash, many of their products are already bricks. Have at it, they're heavily discounted for that reason.

I bought the arc and mini sub from BestBuy during their open box sale earleir this year. I had bough the Bose 700 from Costco in the same week. kept both systems for 2 weeks and ended up returning the Bose .

No complaints with the sonos arc+mini sub combo. I have a med sized living room and the sonos fill its up nicely. No issues with the app on my iPhone.

Avoid Sonos ecosystem until their fix their app that keeps disconnecting my speakers.

Go read the CEO's message after 4 months of silence to understand the slow-moving crisis in that company.

I have an old Beam hooked to my 10 year old TV, don't use the app - just ARC HDMI and AirPlay or ChromeCast to the Sonos.

I will dig around reddit too, but figured I could ask the folks here two yes/no questions!

1. If I update the app on my phone, will features with connected speakers (just the Beam now) stop working?

2. If I consider a new Beam or Arc with a new TV setup, would I be a fool? To (expect to) mimic my basic usage with the original tv and Beam.

Why does anyone ever use the app, anyway?
